What Is The Best Pontoon Boat

I am looking to buy a pontoon boat here soon. I don't want to spend more than $25,000 to include trailer and motor. It will mainly be used for fishing . It must have at a minimum 2 fishing chairs in the front and the pop up changing room w/sundeck on the back. What would be the best boat for my money?

DON'T BUY A SUNTRACKER!!!! the best "value" for pontoon boats today - would most likely be Godfrey's Tuscany Line, or their Sweetwater line. Both are great boats, with costs in comparison to Suntracker, with the same build and quality of top of the line pontoons.

Since its your first boat, I would suggest a used but not abused entry model. No bells and whistles, no 12 year payments, no need to worry about spilling Mountain Dew on the seats.

most boats get used the first year 10 times, second year 5 times, third year once or twice, 4th year none....5th year the owner is wondering Why am i paying every month for a boat that i am too busy to use.

now on the other hand if you love it and going all the time,. then invest more money in a boat you want and by that time you will know what you want.

most beginners start tubing at 5-10mph and water skiing between 12-17mph. Use wider skis and easier for you to get up and easier on the boat. Most small pontoons (20 foot) a 50hp will work, larger engines will get skier up faster, but also suck more gas

I found a site that uses plywood http://www.jemwatercraft.com/pontoon.php , drums, and pvc. My boyfriend wants to make a small pontoon, between 6 and 12 feet long, out of 10" or 12" pvc. What is the best way to make it? It's going to be used on a river for fishing, primarily shallow, he only wants a trolling motor and some oars in case the motor runs out of battery.

here is a great site on building the rebel cat sailboat (a pvc pipe sailboat) you can take the hull shape idea and use it to design your boat. he uses traffic cones to streamline the stern ends of the pvc pipe and heats and shapes the bow ends of the pipe to a point.

The slips are in rows and you have to pull straight in. The channel is small. There is little room to manuver.
