Hey, I've been searching ebay trying to find the type of boat that I might like to get and I can't decide. I really want a boat that I can have about 10+ people on comfortably, and still pull wake/skii/tubers with pretty aggressively. I don't know too much about boats and it will be a couple of years before I buy, but I've been kind of thinking that I might want a pontoon type boat, but I don't think they will be aggressive enough. I don't know. Is there a type of boat that is laid out like a pontoon but set up like a wakeboard/skii boat?
Anyways, what is a good party boat that can comfortably fit 10 people and pull wakeboard/skii/tubers pretty aggressively.
Be the envy of your friends. Here is the boat for you.
It can pull your friends on whatever and it has room for 10+ people.

FLAT BOTTOM Flat bottom boats are great for fishing. They are generally designed for slow speeds and calm water. ROUND BOTTOM Round bottom boats ...
They are pontoon type boats where you can use a trolling motor. I think they are called bass cats or something like that.
I live in the south central part of illinois, would prefer something from that area!
Its called a Pelican Bass Raider 10E Pontoon Fishing Boat and if you have a D i c k's Sporting Goods store, Cabela's, or Bass pro shop they all sell similar boats.

I am looking to buy a new pontoon boat but I am not clear on what type of steering is better, hydraulic ? postive response etc ?? whatever makes the boat track straighter and is easier to drive is what I want.. Help ?
Bird, don't make this over complicated. Pontoons boats are steered by turning the engines. They don't have rudders. Most pontoon boats come with the steering set-up ready to hook up to whatever engine you want.
Happy boating!

Dan

Most Pontoon boats use an outboard motor usually as low as 25 hp up to 125 hp, dependent upon the hull structure and transom. For the larger "Party Barges" and bigger some will be equipped with a V6 MerCruiser I/O with an Alpha 1 outdrive and able to attain 35 mph on the water.
As far as normal fuel, it's regular unleaded gas like in your car. For those that have two-stroke outboard motors, you'll add two stroke injection oil into a separate tank near the engine. It's actually rare to see anyone, anywhere, that still has a two-stroke outboard that you have to add oil to the gas tank in a measured amount.
I am looking for something that is not a bass boat (large platform), not a pontoon boat, just some type of V-hull, typical recreational boat - 2 passenger minimum. Just looking for brand names that have a good size lineup of boats; Mirrocraft is one such brand, but looking for other comparable brands; on a tight budget, but would like to buy new or very lightly used, and need a place to start.... thanks!
Whether you're on a budget or not, I'd not buy anything until I checked out Lund and Tracker because both offer a full line of excellent, extremely sturdy, aluminum hull boats that rival or better anything on the market in performance, price, and long-term warranty. Lund (also offered through Cabella's) and Tracker (also offered at Bass Pro Shops) both specialize in "package deals" that include boat, motor, trailer, and other options at a price far below individual component cost. While motor horsepower or options upgrades can be made at a reasonable price increase, the basic package is always a great performer. I believe that I recently read where Tracker is lately selling almost as many boats in the US as all other manufacturers combined; but shop around and compare for yourself.

boat rod – Why Choose a Pontoon Boat?
First of all, it is the only boat that is known as a “Party Boat”. However, if you need additional reasons there plenty. This type of boat offers many attractive features; the low price, plenty of extra room for stretching out or taking a group of people for a ride. They are also easily customized to specific needs, and come in various models. Some pontoon boats are intended for fishing, others for cruising, and some have a dual purpose.
What can I do with a pontoon boat?
There are a wide variety of uses for a pontoon boat. The biggest perk that I know of is that you can fit a lot more people than on most other types of boats. The more, the merrier. Right? There are many accessories available that can be added to your pontoon boat to customize it for your use. You can have bench seating all around the sides, in rows, or just use lawn furniture and tables. Adding a camper enclosure can make most all pontoons suitable for spending a night on board. Attaching a canopy makes your pontoon boat ready for an afternoon cruise with family and friends by providing shade from the hot sun. For the fishermen; you can get built in livewells, rod holders , and bait buckets. The deck of a pontoon boat also makes a great platform for fishing with the buddies. It is also an ideal boat to use for scuba diving. Some models are even fast enough to pull the kids on water skis, wake boards, or tubes.
