Tritoon Pontoon Boat

Does anyone have an opinion on a Tritoon pontoon boat? They look very versatile and with more power than a regular pontoon boat but a lot more expensive. Ideally, I'd like to tow a ski or float and like the comfort of a pontoon. Thank you

What do you really want to do with your boat?

That is always the first and foremost question.

Reading your question I would steer you toward a comfortable open bow runabout. However, you asked 'toons.

Tritoons will have the ability to carry more weight and more power, therefore they also weigh more and burn more gas and are more difficult to tow.

Look around there are some really nice two-loggers that will do everything you need it to do. Skiiing is the real question, a tube can go behind anything.

Both boats 5 years old, 22ft pontoon with 100hp or a 24ft Tri-toon with 90hp and 1 1/2 times the load of the 22footer? Will the Tri-toon still be faster with 10 less hp and more weight?

Three toons means 33% more hull in the water, 33% more friction, 33% more hydrodynamic drag. Add to that, 50% more weight and 10% less power.

I'm guessing it will be considerably slower.
