Also, does Sun Tracker really have a no haggle policy? If it says $12,000 does really mean that is what I am going to pay for it?

I just bought a 1996 18ft. Sun Tracker pontoon boat with a 60hp motor. While the boat is running there is a loud beeping that will not shut off. The oil level is full and the water pump is working. What can be causing this? Where can I find a on-line owner manual for this boat?

A constant beep would be overheating, an intermittent beeping would indicate an oil flow problem with the oil injection pump. Just because its full doesn't mean its getting oil. Check it out before its damaged. Suggest you contact the manufacturer for the owners manual. Maybe the local library would have something.

I just purchased a 21 ft Sun Tracker pontoon boat ( 50 HP Mercury) 25" Dia toons 21 ft long. I live 200 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Would it be safe to launch and take this boat into the Gulf. What equipment is required for the Sea. Would this boat negotiate high waves. I don't think I would get out of sight of land and just day trips.

Negotiate high waves? Absolutely not and what concerns me more is you're asking but I do applaud you for doing such.

Pontoon boats are made for lakes and rivers and not oceans and gulfs. The design of the pontoon is not meant for handling rough water and could be in peril of capsizing.

Now, on a calm day in the gulf with light winds and calm seas you will do fine. However, as you state "I don't think I would get out of sight of land" means there is a chance you would. Outfit the boat with a GPS unit so that you can track your trip out and then find your way back in. Note that this needs to be a marine GPS and not one you would use in your car.

If you haven't taken a boating safety course it is highly recommended that you do so before taking the vessel out. This course will teach you navigational techniques that could be of extremely helpful use plus so much more useful information.

There a nice boat but there cheap u have to stay on top of them or everything will just start breaking and make sure u get one with a big motor u will love ur self later for it
