how do I make pontoon tubes for a scale model pontoon boat?
canoe through the lily pads

i'm really into r/c boats, cars, planes, etc.
and i like to make scale models of stuff like that, and i want to build an r/c pontoon boat; to do that i have to make it float, and i don't know how, to make my own pontoon tubes, or where I can buy any, so i'm wondering how to make my own. if you can tell me how to make the tubes the boat floats on, or give me a link to a website that sells them, or any ideas you might have, please let me know. ur help would be very much appreciated. thanks for your help. :)

Use wooden dowels, shaped accordingly. A soft light wood like pine or cedar would be ideal. Balsa wood or foam would also work.

painted try a hull cleaner but you must follow the directions to the letter!

aluminum use a power washer.

water makes us happy

my brother in law bought a pontoon boat, it has a 90 horse power motor, we wanted to attach a tow bar to it, but at a cuople of hundred bucks for the bar i really want to make sure that it can handle it.

as in tube you mean innertube? the type you get in and float around? if you do you have plenty of horse power way more than enough

What is the minimum horsepower motor required for water skiing/tubing behind a pontoon boat?

my fam. use to have a poontoon with 45 hp, and it pulled ski-ers fine, but it did not pull tubing as well. if you want to have a fun ride (for example, going outside of the wake tubing) you are probably going to need a 95+ hp engine on the boat. before my family got a speed-boat, our pontoon stalled and wouldnt start because 45 hp wasnt enough to pull a tuber. hope this helps.

Should i get an inflatable Canoe, inflatable Kayak, inflateable boat,a Float tube or inflatable Pontoon to fish?

I am about 90 lbs and 4 foot 11 inches. I Own Waders with boots and have been fishing for a while. I have about 200$ to spend and need a new way to fish. So should I get an inflatable boat, inflatable Canoe, inflatable kayak, inflatable float tube, or an inflatable pontoon to go fishing with

A "U" float tube will be the best bet for small ponds and even big lakes on calm days. At your height the models with extra high seats will give a problem with getting a good bite with fins. I have been using a Kennebec for the past 6 years. It is comfortable, stable and rides low on the water. The only negative is that the large wet surface makes it slower than my friends tubes. Shop around for an inflatable life preserver like a SOS model manual operated. Automatics are a poor choice for a tuber. Then invest the rest of your budget in a tube.

  • Pontoon vs Tri-Toon Help - The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum

I have used both. For speed and rough water the tri toon is definitely the way to go. I had a 22' starcraft double toon with a 75 horse that would run about 22 MPH. We used it primarily to run up and down the creek as a party barge. I ran a 25' tri-toon with a 150 etec for the past two years. It would run low 30s and was much more stable at speed. We actually used this boat to saltwater bay fish and ran in the Gulf of Mexico on calm days. The third toon (and I'm sure extra 75 hp) allowed it to get up on a plane and the handling characteristics were more like a mono hull boat. I would definitely go with the tri if speed is any part of your decision. If you just want to putt around and enjoy yourself...
