Magma makes a good grill. there are others out there, but go take a look to make sure it is the size you want. West marine is a good place to shop, Boaters World and most marine stores.

I want to get my husband a barbeque for fathers day but I dont know what kind to get because there is so many couches on the boat. I do not have any pole railings. I also need to know what i need to buy beside the grill (mountings, ect.)
Please help

Marine BBQ's are not cheap because they are made to stand up to a marine enviornment. Usually made of stainless steel. They are also modular and have a virety of mounting options. If you buy a marine grill from a store like west marine or boaters world, you only get the grill. You still need to buy a mounting system. This is because there is not one universal system that works for all boaters. Some need a rail mount (and there are several different configurations and rail sizes), others a fishing pole adapter, others a table stand.

Depending upon how many people you plan on feeding and how often you plan on using the grill, one of these may not be the best solution for you.

If this is a one time deal (or maybe a couple times this summer) you should consider a table top model from an outdoor store or place like walmart or sears. Stay with propane! You can control the heat and turn the fire off quickly if there is a problem. With charcoal, you're at the mercy of the coals and stuck boating with hot coals when you're done cooking.

There are stores that sell used marine equipment on consignment that will ship items too. Try Bacon and Associates in Annapolis or Minney's Surplus in California.

My husband wants a grill for our new Bently pontoon - its 24 foot if that even matters. I'm pretty sure he wants one that mounts to the rail of the boat. I have found a couple that vary greatly in price. Assuming that I an afford an expensive one - does anyone have any advice to give me on which brands and kinds are better? I dont have a boats world or anything nearby so I will need to order online.

Magma, Sea B Q and Force 10 are popular makes. These would be the best to look at.

We're going out on our boat for the 4th of July and would like some ideas of food we can take for dinner that will keep well in the sun. We have coolers & a small grill to take for burgers & hots. (It's a Pontoon boat) but would like some kind of salad or other dinner item that won't spoil even if left in a coller in the sun. So far our ideas are salt potatoes that can be eaten at room temperature & watermelon.

Any ideas would be helpful!

Fried Chicken always works well. Go wit a green salad and keep it in a sealed plastic bag along with all of the ingredients pre cut in individual baggies. Put everything into the cooler and fill with ice for the day. When meal time comes, place everything into the lettuce bag and shake to mix everything. Allow everybody to add their own dressing once on the plates. Potato salads spoil quickly unless you have a really good cooler. Another good salad is a mixed fruit salad with strawberries, bananas, grapes, peaches, pineapple and apricots. That can be left out, but is better cool.

I'm looking at some pics and it looks great.

Take $5,000 off that price and it's good to go. Price is way too high for a used boat. Any way you turn it, it is a used boat. I don't care if the owner never used it, once it leaves the dock or showroom, it is a used boat. Boats have a low resale value unless they are top of the line. Searay, Bertram, etc. Size and equipment matters when it comes to boats and price. Good Luck, you would be better off buying a brand new boat with a full warranty. At the boat show they will inlclude a lot of factory extras for free.
