House Boat Pontoon

1 side leans a bit maybe two inches lower on the left from weight.

The pontoons are not pressure vessels. If they are not leaking, adding air will actually increase the weight. If your boat is leaning due to unbalanced weight distribution, then it was poorly designed or something is wrong. A lot of planning goes into the layout of any boat to assure that weight is evenly distributed.

My old cajun bass boat it in pretty bad shape but the motor (a 90 HP Johnson) runs like a top. At least it did when I last cranked it two years ago. I used to own a lot on a private 800 acre lake but sold it. Now, I want to explore the local public waters but my 16 foot boat doesn't take waves very well. There is a 33,000 acre lake near my house that gets quite rough in those unexpected summer storms. Anyway, is there any advantage to selling my old boat but not the motor then finding a pontoon boat with no motor and putting mine on it?

A 90 HP motor is PLENTY big for a pontoon up to 24 or 28 feet. Most toons use 50HP, and 35 was the popular choice up until about 10 years ago.

I have a 24 footer and it will do 19-20 mph with a 50 on it.

Beware though, pontoon boats are not good in large waves. Three to four footers are pretty hard on a toon, and if water washes over the deck, you stand a good chance of losing rails, furniture, etc. Pontoons are really for calmer lakes. Just make sure that the motor is the right length (most are 20") so that the cav plate is in the water the correct amount.

Usually I'd bring a bottle of wine to someone's house..., but this is a small boat (with no facilities) that is parked at a marina.

Of course the host said not to bring anything, noting that the food and drinks would be provided, but I feel lousy showing up empty-handed.

Since we'll be boating/waterskiing, I'm not sure if bringing alcohol is in bad taste...

What do you think is appropriate to bring in this situation?

If they've made it clear that they're providing food/beverages, grab a card & a gift certificate to a restaurant at your local drugstore as a host(ess) gift. The Walgreens & CVS near me has a ton of restaurant gift certificate options. Good luck!

a friend of mine, and I agreed to split everything in half cost and such, he passed away in Feb, he told me he put my name on the title of a boat as the lein holder, needless too say he didn[t and now his kids want the pontoon boat

you have a tough job proving you have any rights to the boat at all. Nothing in writing anyhow. If you could provide wittness testimony then maye you have a chance. But as it sits now ,,your friend seems to have screwed up.

I have davits behind my house i live on a salt water canal can I use the davits to lift my pontoon boat out of the water

It depends on the overall weight of the Pontoon boat and the "Capacity" of the Davit. Most Davits have a weight capacity of 1500 lbs. Since most Pontoons exceed this weight, it's not likely. You'll need to have a boat lift.
