I have davits behind my house i live on a salt water canal can I use the davits to lift my pontoon boat out of the water
It depends on the overall weight of the Pontoon boat and the "Capacity" of the Davit. Most Davits have a weight capacity of 1500 lbs. Since most Pontoons exceed this weight, it's not likely. You'll need to have a boat lift.

I put pinstriping on my pontoon today it wants to lift up and not stick good. Does anybody know how I might get it to stick now that its on?

I need help in making the pulley system and what way would work best for my pontoon trailer, 24ft crank up
Send me a ruff sketch and I'll try to come up with something for you
My son deleted your e-mail so I lost your Addy , but after looking at the pictures , it appears to me that you just need to beef it up a little , Add a larger cranking Assembly and some reinforcement to the supporting structure, don't try to add more pulleys but rather replace the existing one with a heavier duty one

Serviced the pontoon motor to begin the season, sounded great the 1st time out. Now it chugs a little bit and we get a lot more blue smoke. Just sounds rough. Part of the problem might be dragging the prop through a little bit of mud when the lift shorted out, but it didn't look like major damage.

I'm not that mechanically oriented so please simplify the answer. Thanks!
need a lot more info, like year and model of motor.
2 stroke or 4 stroke?
was it runnning when you took it through the mud?
prop damage can certainly effect performance. however, it will not effect how the motor runs when its not in gear.
blue smoke is burning oil. a 2 stroke with to much oil in the mix will smoke blue.
a 4 sstroke shouldnt burn oil at all, shouldnt make blue smoke at all.
oil can get past the valve guide, the rings, the head gasket.
a compression test is the best way to determine engine condition and if one of those things is bad.
also, removing the spark plugs and examing them for coloration can tell you something too. if one plug looks different then the others, something is wrong in that cylinder.
He acts like he has absolutely no self esteem, but he's one of the smartest, strongest, and most unusual people I know.
His IQ is over 130. He was reading on a high school graduate level in first grade, reads over 1000 words a minute, can memorize a picture after looking at it for less than 3 seconds, scored a 30 on his ACT with a perfect score in two subjects, uses the heaviest free weights in the school gym, and once picked up my dad's pontoon boat by himself (I don't know how much it weighs, but I couldn't do it :P).
How can a guy like that be depressed? It's like all the above accomplishments don't matter. If he DOES do bad on a test or fail to lift something, he gets even worse.
I'm trying to get him to see a doctor, but he doesn't want anything to do with one. He doesn't want to take any pills because he thinks they'll just mess him up more.
Is there anything I can do for this guy? I almost think he's joking, but if he is, it's awfully convincing.

Choose the correct Boat Lift for your Boat | Boat Lift Blog
October 7, 2010 2 Comments Chris Choose the correct Boat Lift for your Boat
When it comes to choosing a freestanding lift or hoist for your boat, pontoon or PWC , there are a few things you will need to know to ensure you purchase a lift that works best with your watercraft. Knowing the overall weight and beam of your boat is the best place to start. This will allow you to choose the correct weight capacity and the correct inside width.
Finding the Overall Weight
When determining the overall weight of a watercraft, you will need to account for the dry weight of the unit, fuel, gear, the weight of any non factory additions and additional water on board. This will give you a more accurate weight allowing you to choose the correct lift capacity.
