20 Pontoon Boat

i have a 1988 grumman pontoon boat 20' with 70hp johnson outboard. I recently changed all new carpet and interior and apparently a few wires were crossed. I need to find a wiring diagram or just know how to wire it from the ignition back to the motor and battery.

This might help you, I don't have the wiring diagram for a 70 HP, but here are the diagrams for a 40&50HP-1986 and on

The manufacturer recommends a maximum of 75 h.p. But I just want to leisure cruise and don't need to pull a skier. Max number of people on the boat would be 7.

If it is rated for 75 horse power .then thats the maxium horse power to use..A 20 to 50 hp motor will do what you need to get around .

I want to purchase a boat, But i'm not sure if the van can handle it.

Depends on how your Caravan is equipped. If you have the 4 liter engine and 6-speed automatic transmission with the factory towing package, your Grand Caravan is rated to tow up to 3800 lbs. That's the total combined weight of the boat, trailer and everything in it.

If you have a smaller engine or no factory tow package, the car can only tow 1000 lbs. You could possibly get away with towing a bit more weight on short trips but it will not be as safe as using a stronger vehicle.

Front-wheel drive vehicles are notorious for having problems pulling a boat/trailer out of the water at the boat launching site too.

20’ PLAYCRAFT PONTOON BOAT ..What the weight restrictions or the amount of people alowed

I have a 28ft pontoon boat and with your size your looking at between 6 to 9 people..."depending" on there weight. you really have to stick to that limit or you could with just a little rough water be in trouble. My boat I can carry up to 16 but I never go over 14 for safety.
