Im just wondering if anyone knows where i can get a intex motor mount kit for intex inflatable boats in canada? Preferably edmonton, alberta but im willing to buy online in canada only. No US online retailers please!

Testing the Minn Kota 55 # on an intex Excursion 5 on Round Valley Reservoir, NJ

I need to stiffen the motor mount on my Intex Mariner 4 so I can hold a bigger outboard. Has anyone attempted this or have any advice on how I could do it?

Get a 1/2 inch piece of marine plywood and make two bulkheads to sandwich the original motor mount and paint with marine epoxy. Use Epoxy resin to "glue" the new plywood to the old bulkhead and clamps to hold em in place till the epoxy sets up. You can also use deck screws to hold it in place along with the epoxy.

I think you can get two ro three years from the motors but the filters need to be cleaned regularly and may only last a season. The trouble is that most stores sell out of the filter cartridges early and when you need them, nobody has them anymore. You can extend the life of the cartridge by hsoing it off weekly and monthly let it sit in a 5 gallon pail of water with about a 1/2 gallon of muriatic acid for 12-24 hours, dump the water carefully and hose off the cartridge and it should be good as new. Be careful with the acid (available at all hardware stores for $5-$6) since it will kill grass or plants and you should not get any on you ever. Pour it in the water slowly and keep it away from kids and pets for the soak time. The other alternative is buying 2 or three cartridges early in the season.

I have a inflatable intex seahawk II but does not come with the motor mount I need to know where can i find this kind of mount bracket i know if custom made. I would like to know how can i find one.
