Inflatable Boat

I purchased a sevylor Inflatable 3 person boat a year ago on ebay. I also bought a used MinnKota brand 1.5 HP electric trolling motor. I was told i needed to register the boat if I want to take it out to a lake. I called but they were asking what dealer I bought it from , it was just some guy on ebay. Any help would be greatly appereciated.

I just purchased a nice little inflatable fishing boat. Oars, trolling motor, the whole nine but I'm not too high on the idea of taking it on the river. Can anyone recommend some good lakes? Perhaps especially lakes that don't allow powerboats? I live around the Streator-Ottawa area. Thanks!

This site has the info you need. Just remember to be safe in case something pops a hole in that boat. You should have life jackets for everyone on board and be close enough to shore to swim back if you had to. The water being so cold this time of year makes it even more dangerous. Safety first. In Michigan, a row boat doesn't need to be registered, anything with a motor does. You should check out the requirements for your state to avoid getting a ticket. You may need a registration sticker for your boat which is the equivalent of a license plate for a car. Good luck out there.

Me and a friend want to buy a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) of about 15 horsepower really cheap (possibly under £100). We have looked on ebay and various others but cannot find one that is complete (with motor included) and that is small enough. Does anyone know where i can buy one and who from? It would be best if it was in or near the North of England

Not sure if you'll be able to find anything for less than 100 (well, nothing that floats). You'll probably have to fork out a few more dollars for a good inflatable. I've seen them at various marine supply stores (Pride, Overton, West, etc.) West Marine has web coupons that may ease the pain a little. We just bought a cheap coleman 4 person inflatable boat. We want to take it around the shoreline at Lake Mead, NV. Do we need to wear life jackets?

I would say "yes". Inflatable boats can still sink.

Me and my friends are planning on buying a boat, and an inflatable one would be cheaper and easier to transport. My friend is afraid if he drops a cigarette in the boat it will cause a leak. Would a lit cigarette burn a hole in 23 gauge PVC in less than a few seconds?
Temperature of a lit cigarette is between 400 and 580 degrees Celcius.

The melting point of PVC is 80 degrees Celcius

The floor doesn't hold air, but water could leak if it sat there for about 20 seconds. The side walls are tubular and hold the air, but because of their shape a cigarette would fall off immediately
