Fishing Raft

I am to young to legally have a motor and I have an anchor so what else should I add?

here is what I have in mine:

life jacket
extra rope for tying up and other various uses
paddles
a sponge or cloth for cleanup
a bailer of some sort (cut up bleach bottle)
fishing gear (poles, tackle, knife, pliers)
optional electric motor
vertical rod holders for storage so that they are out of the way in such a small area

I recently added a drift sock... a piece of cloth with the ends tied to rope that acts like a parachute when thrown into the water to slow down your drift in such a lightweight watercraft.

Just experiment and you will be amazed at the things you can easily make with inexpensive materials to make a raft a convenient easy to reach stuff fishing machine! Good luck fishin!

ok i have a camp on the pearl river and me and about 7 other people are having a contest to see who can build the cheapest fishing raft that will hold 2 people and gear

HA do I have the ride for you! Go to a local feed store or wherever you can get this for cheap. Get a plastic watering trough big enough for what you need. SIZE WILL VARY.

On the outside of the trough, attach sealed and empty milk jugs or hot oil cans (whatever) until you get the bouyancy right.

I used this "boat" for several summers as a kid and caught a pisload of fish with it.

**The easy way to attached the jugs is to tie a rope very tightly around the outside that goes all the way around the tub. Then just tie the jugs to that rope. Piece of cake.

How Could i Make a Wooden Floor to put on the bottom of a Sevylor Fish Hunter 280? Could i just buy one?

The sevlor fish hunter has such a thin wall on its vinyl that putting a wood floor in it would risk rupturing it don't do it.

If you want a hard bottom boat and still some what inflatable upgrade to the built in hull models. Like Zodiac

I am looking for an inflatable kayak/canoe/raft to use for fishing local rivers and lakes. I don't have enough space for a hardshell, so I've been looking for inflatable dinghy type boats, but one that is elongated so I can paddle alone or with someone. Also, I want hard seats to sit on. I found a Saturn prototype on ebay, but have been unable to find a similar model. Price limit = $350. Help.

i have almost the exact same problem right now. Im leaning toward a canoe that i found on the sports authority website that is for $350. They also have many inflatable rafts but im afraid that they will pop. check out that site and maybe Dicks for some cheaper boats. Hope we can find what we're looking for.
