Fishing Inflatable Boat

My brother and I are thinking about buying an inflatable fishing boat for rivers and lakes. Is it a good investment? We like the idea of the inflatable because it's simple and doesnt take up space. Also, do you know anywhere where I can get a good reliable and relatively cheap inflatable fishing boat? I want to spend no more than a grand. Thanks guys!

by inflatable i think you mean somthing like a zodiac inflatable sides and fixed deck.
To be honest... they are good for certain uses.. ie tenders for larger boats.. but for fishing in a lake or river then you may be prone to punctures.... you have to watch the stone branches etc. Also you are limited to the power you can put on it..
Consider a 12ft jon boat .... small 2-9 hp motor or even a trolling moter may suit you better... small trailer from Harbor fiieght will cast ablut $300, the boat well ebay, local papers, or new will cost $300 upwards.... A trolling motor and batter ... $300. But in the long run it will take more of a battering and .... doesnt take up that much space on a drive..
its also safer ...
Oh i forgot look up Porta-boat...beleive it or not these things fold up and you can put a 2hp motor on the back... its a little harder wearing than an inflatable.

No. You can't really stand up in those things. They don't stabilize too well in choppy water too. Drop a hook and you could puncture something without you even knowing. Personally, I think you'll be much better off with a float tube which was designed for fishing in the first place.

I just purchased a nice little inflatable fishing boat. Oars, trolling motor, the whole nine but I'm not too high on the idea of taking it on the river. Can anyone recommend some good lakes? Perhaps especially lakes that don't allow powerboats? I live around the Streator-Ottawa area. Thanks!

This site has the info you need. Just remember to be safe in case something pops a hole in that boat. You should have life jackets for everyone on board and be close enough to shore to swim back if you had to. The water being so cold this time of year makes it even more dangerous. Safety first. In Michigan, a row boat doesn't need to be registered, anything with a motor does. You should check out the requirements for your state to avoid getting a ticket. You may need a registration sticker for your boat which is the equivalent of a license plate for a car. Good luck out there.

i want to get a small inflatable fishing boat. i want something that could fit 2 or 3 people rather comfortably. however i don't want something that is going to break the bank. the maximum i would spend is about 700 dollars. So if you have an inflatable fishing boat, or know someone who does, what would you recommend for me? And it doesn't have to have a motor on it i would only row it. Thank you.

never do i recommend a inflatable fishing boat..you need a little 2 man boat man of iron or what ever they make them from..check on craiglist in your area and do not buy it until you see that it is float-able ..both you meet at the creek and test it out..now in days you can get a cheap one for under what your looking to pay see a inflatable one is like riding in the titanic ..one wrong move from either you or the fish you drop in it can puncture a hole in the floor of it those things are best only for just getting in and having some fun not for fishing.
