I want to buy a boat, but there are a lot of brands. Which are the best sport boat brands, or bowriders. Also i was also thinking of getting a boat with a porta potti, maybe a 20ft cuddy cabin boat. Please help!

I am planning on buying a 22 ft. 1992 Sea Ray Cuddy cabin boat with 5.7L V8 Mercruiser. I want to use it to go to Catalina Island from OC area. The island is about 3 hours away. Do you think this boat is OK to go in the ocean with this much power?
Pick your weather and go for it. It seems like you are off on the time to go to Cat Is. as I remember the song,
26 miles across the sea......... 3 hrs at 9 knots would do it.
Your 22' Sea Ray is a planing hull and should shorten that time considerable.
I am going to buy a boat soon (most likely a cuddy cabin) and I was wondering where people sleep? Do you take the boat out of the water or just dock it somewhere? I just figured the water would make it difficult to sleep with it moving a lot. I am interested in a 22' or larger any suggestions on brands?
Once you get used to a gentle rocking there is no place like sleeping on the water.
Marinas are very nice, tie up to a dock or grab a ball for the night. Quiet coves are the best, no people, no noise, and skinny dipping is required.
Best brand out there is SeaRay, and they have a large owners group, second only to HOG.

I think the wrong size is on my boat and i need to know this now.
Depends on what you want the boat do. If you want the boat to have a high speed the pitch of the prop should be anywhere from 22 to 25. If you want the boat to be fast from an idle take off then you will want the pitch somewhere around 18 - 20. As far as the actual size of the prop (the diameter) I'm not sure because my experience is only with outdrives and inboards.

Most wooden rails are attached by screws from the inside of the cabin, and the screw heads are typically covered by a liner. Unless the liner is a removable soft liner, removing the liner is not usually an option, so the easiest way to remove old handrails behind a solid liner is to cut them off as close to the cabin top as possible using a Sawsall. You’ll have to push out or drill out the remaining screw heads, making a hole in the inner liner, but the liner should be easy to patch. If you decide to replace the rail with the same type you can use these same holes to mount the new rail.
