moms-would this be being neglectful?

i have a large bayliner cabin cruiser boat with interior rooms. i plan on taking my then 9-12 month son with us to the boat, which we will be staying every other weekend on. my fiance was originally 100% against the idea saying "he won't like it" because he (our son) will be to young. now he agreed to let the baby come but i am worried that the baby still may not like being away from home that long or something. my fiance says if thats the case we can just leave him with somebody for those weekends. while finding somebody to watch him would be no problem even that often. but i feel like thats neglectful of me and his daddy to run of pleasure boating every other weekend and leaving lil bit at home. i feel that if the baby truly cannot deal with boating that we shouldn't go or at least not near as often. i would feel like a bad mom and guilty for leaving him with others for me to have some fun. my fiance says we need time to ourself -which boating would be alot of friends and things, (not "alone") so would that be neglecting my son to run off boating and not taking him?

Take him with on every other trip or skip every other trip (go once a month instead of twice)

'05 Chevrolet Suburban Electrical Questions?

Never tried yahoo! answers before, but here goes.......(BTW, I noticed "Chevy Owner" is a GM cert. mech. and provides seemingly good advice.)

I have an '05 Suburban LT Autoride 5.3L with just about every bell and whistle one could imagine for options. My situation is that I like to tailgate and there does not seem to be an "accessory" position which powers just the "cab". (With the truck off) If I want to run the DVD for the kids, or the sound system, I'm told by the Chevy Dealer that all the "modules" for the engine management system are powered too. They said I'm doing real good if it will go 45min. on the stock battery. I've had that load tested and my battery guy says I'm in good shape. Now I've noticed that there are 2 "fuse boxes" for the vehicle. The one under the hood appears to be for "chassis" functions and the one by the driver side door hinge is for "cab" functions. My questions is this.....Is there a kit (factory/aftermarket??) that adds a second battery and isolates the two fuseboxes. This would be similiar to a set-up found in a larger boat in that one battery could be used for starting, engine management, and vital functions (ABS, exterior lamps, etc.) and the other battery could be used for "cabin" functions (interior lights, sound, dvd, 12V accessory outlets, etc.). When the alternator is charging (engine running) the isolator could switch both batteries to be in parallel for charging, when not charging, it isolates them. Of course a manual overide would be smart to allow for emergency situations. I think it would be no biggie to make one, and I've found an aftermarket 2nd battery tray, but my truck is still under the extended warranty and I don't want to void that part of it. I can't see that anything would work any different "electrically" assuming both batteries had some charge. This would be especially useful when we overnite in the truck 5-6 times per year. More than a few times I've had to jump the truck if the battery goes down enough for the "run-down" protection to kick in (or drop out?). If I can do this, I would spring for Optimas. One starting, and one deep cycle. Did I just blow everyones brain???? Hope at least someone understands the question and can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

- Mike in South Jersey (yeah, there's a difference!)

sounds like a good idea but you'll probably need a bigger alternator also dosent deisel engines have two batteries i dont know just thinking out loud or get a battery jumper maybe a cheap fix good luck

Isn't this democrat senator a real "man of the common people"?

This brings up two good points.

The first is what a HUGE hypocrite Kerry is for always wanting to raise taxes on the wealthy (remember he wants the RICH to pay their fair share) and then "cheating" his way around paying them...so his PRO-tax-the-rich stance gets him lots of naive democratic votes, but it does nothing substantial for tax revenue. It is proof that democrats mean NOTHING of what they say!

Two, I really can't blame him for not wanting to pay the outrageous excise tax that Taxachusetts is trying to collect, due to their mismanagement of taxpayer monies AND trying to be a nanny for everyone in the state, regardless of whether it is within their authority to do it or not.

QUESTION: Wouldn't it be better to actually pass legislation that will help relieve peoples' tax burdens, instead of vote FOR them and then cheat to get away with stealing that tax money from the poor people of Massachusetts? He's literally stealing money from the poor by doing this, but does he care, this man of the common people?

excerpt...
Sen. John Kerry, who has repeatedly voted to raise taxes while in Congress, dodged a whopping six-figure state tax bill on his new multimillion-dollar yacht by mooring her in Newport, R.I.

Isabel - Kerry’s luxe, 76-foot New Zealand-built Friendship sloop with an Edwardian-style, glossy varnished teak interior, two VIP main cabins and a pilothouse fitted with a wet bar and cold wine storage - was designed by Rhode Island boat designer Ted Fontaine.

But instead of berthing the vessel in Nantucket, where the senator summers with the missus, Teresa Heinz, Isabel’s hailing port is listed as “Newport” on her stern.

Could the reason be that the Ocean State repealed its Boat Sales and Use Tax back in 1993, making the tiny state to the south a haven - like the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and Nassau - for tax-skirting luxury yacht owners?

Cash-strapped Massachusetts still collects a 6.25 percent sales tax and an annual excise tax on yachts. Sources say Isabel sold for something in the neighborhood of $7 million, meaning Kerry saved approximately $437,500 in sales tax and an annual excise tax of about $70,000.

The same guy that was a decorated war hero with a camera and a PR man in Vietnam and you question his validity on taxing the rich. Kerry is the worst kind of politician, a Democrat.

What do you call a Liberal that votes to raise taxes but doesn't want to pay them?
