A friend has a boat with a cabin that has been in staorage for 5 years. It smells like a pop-up camper. I'm assuming it's mildew in the cushions, but how do you get rid of the smell without destroying the cushions?
My personal savior for covering up incriminating smells, or camper odor.
Febrese usually works like a charm.
Take the cushions out and put them outside in the air. Spray those mothers down with the febrese. Both sides of the cushions. let them air out for a while and then do it again.
As for the boat, spray all fabric surfaces and carpet with the febrese. let it air out, do it again. keep it up until it's gone.
Then you can go get one of those sweet air fresheners that looks like a tree or a leaf!

Hi there, here are the outlines and specs of the boat, I am curious of a price that it would sell for!
Needs:
New antifouling paint, (Hull is in good condition as well as keel)
Depthsounder & knot meter doesn't work, no compass, main sail has a 2' tear near top of mast, stove has been removed but sink still works, cracks in fiberglass around the tiller bar mounting point, doesn't have a bilge pump, 2 small leaks around toe rails., cracks throughout the deck but not through to the cabin and it needs a new lifeline., no trailer for it.
Good points,
Genoa and spinnaker in excellent condition, fully functional head that has just been fixed, cushions in excellent condition, cabin is good shape; all around actually, honda 8hrspwr outboard in good shape, wiring is so so but functional, only had 2 owners in its lifetime, father and than son, so it has been maintanted fairly well for a year round in water boat in Vancouver.
Any info would be greatly appreciated on the subject

Grand Slam that is a great cruiser/racer sailboat. These are well built and sought after as race boats. It is in good condition, could use a a little work but is in good sailing condition. This boat it’s fast for it’s size/category and has a very large and comfortable cockpit if your into racing or daysailing. It is equipped with a fully retractable keel and swing up rudder for pulling up to the beach and trailering. The cabin has plenty of storage and a place for a porta potti. It can sleep up to four people but is better suited for daysailing/cruising and racing due to the current setup of the cabin( no carpet,no cushions and no wiring ). Has a newly built rudder as of 2010, new Bomar deck hatch (2010), spinnaker pole( no spinnaker sail ), good running ’86 4hp 2 stroke Yamaha (new impeller and new thermostat installed, lower unit lubed). Has 3 dacron “North” sails (mainsail, 110%jib and 155% genoa) that are in good cruising condition. I have raced with the Main and 155% and still did quite well. Topsides were painted red about two years ago. Trailer is included. It is a galvanized single axle, heavy duty trailer. It has a 6,500lb. rated axle with 6 lug wheels. Tires and bearings are good and trailer is in road worthy condition. Could use a little work depending on your needs. Carpet, cushions and wiring have been removed from interior due to bad condition and interior has been painted. I only daysailed and raced, so we did not use the cabin much to worry about replacing what was removed nor did we sail at night, so wiring for the lights were not needed. A bottom repainting would be needed if the boat is to be kept in the water, since the current bottom paint is coming off from unloading/loading on the trailer. The mast has a slight curve to it about 7 feet up from the mast step and could be easily straightened. It was like this when I bought the boat and I have sailed numerous times with the mast as is, without any problems. I also raced a couple of times with this mast and did good enough for club racing.
