Boat Covers

I just bought an older ranger boat, and the seat covers are shot- the foam is in good shape though, is there anywhere i can buy the covers presewn and intstall them myself?

Once it has formed, mildew can be eliminated by washing with any number of commercial products formulated for this purpose. One excellent spray is Scrub Free Mildew Remover, which works on contact. It’s available in supermarkets and home centers. But the simplest and least expensive method is to use a solution of water, detergent and household chlorine bleach to clean the surface and kill the fungus. Whatever solution you choose, the important thing, says Povitz, is to remove the growth and the underlying film or dirt completely, then dry it thoroughly. Two important safety notes: Avoid using bleach in combination with any product containing ammonia, as the mixture will produce highly toxic chlorine gas; and test the surface or material to be washed to make sure it will not be harmed by the bleach. Always remember to wear a mask, safety goggles and rubber gloves.

i can find plenty on ebay, but not too many for larger boats... like 25-26 footers (not sail boats, power boats)

if ur in america try costco or wallmart they have cheap stuff there

where can i get seat covers or get seats redone in ms or al at a good price for a 1997 seadoo challenger jet boat 15'. or does anyone do them.

Look for a boat canvas shop or a upholstrey shop of any kind in your area, call a few to find the best price. If you or anyone you know has a good sewing machine then you or they can just make new ones from the pattern of they old ones. It's not very difficult if you can use a machine. Good luck.

Our boat has a few scratches on the front already from a previous driver. We like to pull onto banks a lot at the lake and look around, but we're afraid of scratching it up more. Is there any type of cover that you can get for the front of the boat to protect against scratching?

Sounds like you are trying to protect the bottom of the hull. If so I think Bass Pro, Boaters World and West Marine sells a rubber or plastic cover that adheres to the bottom of the boat. It does not cover the whole bottom but more on the chines (I think is what they are called ) or basically the lines rinning from to back. You most likely will only need them on the front part. I have not used them but scene them used near some of the shelly islands here where people pull up. I stay out just far enough to anchor up, using a bow and stern anchor... I only pull up to the beaches here when it is warm and never mind getting a little wet. Winter time is a different story, I just avoid those areas at that time.
