I have a 24ft Bayliner and am looking to buy a boat trailer. I've found a Eagle trailer made for 22" boats. The measurement of my boat's centerline is 23.5". The length from the tow hook (connects to wrench) of the boat to transom is 19.5, which is the exact length of the trailer. The GVWR is 6000 but then the trailer's label also mentioned something 3000 per axle. This is a tandem 4 wheel boat trailer....My boat's dry weight @ 4650. Would this be ideal for my boat?? Please advice.

you need a trailer made specifically for a 24' boat with your hull design. anything else will result in damage by improperly supporting the boats weight, you can completely total the boat by putting it on a trailer not meant for it.

i'd check with ezlaoder, very big maker of boat trailers and many bayliner original trailers are made by ezloader.

it may cost more, but they can get you a trailer that properly supports your boat and protects the investment you have in it.

and weight capacity of the one you are looking at is too little. add in a full tank of fuel and gear and boat weight can get well over 5,000 lbs. add in trailer weight, and even dry your pushing that 6,000 lb limit.

I bought new tires for my tandem boat trailer. I was pulling the boat, which is heavy, on the highway when another motorist flagged me down after I had gone about 30 miles and said one of my tires was almost flat. I pulled over and sure enough it was about 60% flat. It was so hot I couldn't touch it and it had a strong burnt smell. I put air back into the tire and discovered the new valve stem that they installed was faulty.
Is this tire now damaged and unsafe? Should the dealer give me a new one? I haven't asked them yet.

The above answer is completely right on the money. By running flat for a while the sidewalls will be compromised. This will be noticeable just by looking at it. It is the dealers fault and make sure you do nothing to the tire before you bring it back. To make things more in your favour, (if you can), remove the tire and bring it back off the trailer and tell the that the stem leaking and ran the tire flat just min. after leaving. Fight for what is right and in this case it is a new tire with no out of pocket expenses.

I am considering buying one and am wondering what a fair price would be. the one I am interested in is a fresh water boat, with a 9 and 1/2 foot beam, with a tandem trailer.

I looked online and could only find a 1996 listed at 12500. You would be looking at around 7 to 8.5k. You can go to the library and look it up in the BUC Book for boats or the NADA for boats that tends to be on the low side.

I've been given an old 26' power boat that needs some work and its on a tandem axle trailer. The trailer tires are flat and have been flat for awhile so I'm going to replace them to move the boat to my place. My question is where should I jack up each side? The boat has to stay on so theres going to be 4000-5000 (guess) lbs on the trailer. Should I jack at the suspension point between the two tires?

put the jack as close to the tire as possible on the axle of the tire you are working on.
