Boat trailer repairs for a 14 foot inflatable?

The wheel studs are corroded as are the lug nuts. We were able to remove the lug nuts with great difficulty in order to remove the tires to get them fixed. Now the lug nuts will not go on anymore. I heard about this thing called a "thread chaser" or a "tap and die". But how is anybody really supposed to fix something like this? It's been in sea water before.

Don't bother for $20 dollars buy the complete hub bearings and studs with nuts> Replace it all> It comes as an assembly> The other studs are in the way to try and turn the die>And getting the studs out you will need a acetylene torch and slug hammer>To much work> Replace them>

Can I find a way to carry a 250lb 18ft long 7ft wide inflatable boat on roof of a 15ft Camry?

I know I'll have to mount a rack on the roof at minimum; the motor will go in the trunk. I'm alone and am also looking for a way to haul it up and down. I'll be taking side roads; but is this going to be a less or more dangerous proposition than getting a flat boat trailer? My concern is that I've never driven anything in tow and therefore am concerned about safety if I hit even side roads with a trailer that's still going to be fairly heavy. Any advice?

Yes, get a trailer

Which is the most famous b2b website in the UK?

We want to sell inflatable boats to UK markets. rigid inflatable boat with trailer and motors; and soft bottom inflatable boats, rafting boats.

Thanks.

Susan

Rather than targeting a B2B website to sell your boats, check for sites with interest in the type of boats you offer. Look for sites about rafting - there's an example of one below. That came up by just searching on rafting.

A generalist site is going to be too hit and miss for you. Make sure your own website has all the key words relevant to your prospective customers so that when they search for inflatable boats or trailers for them, you'll come up at the top of the search.

Good luck!

Rigid Inflatable boats.. advice? How seaworthy are they?

I'd like to get a rigid inflatable and need some advice. I want one with a center console and small enough to fit in a small garage (with trailer).

What should I look for when purchasing? Could I get a decent used one for under 4k?

What can I realistically do with it? I'm looking to cruise the coast here in Southern California.

Any advice?

I used to sell inflatable boats and I can concure with everything everyone said about the seaworthiness of a RIB plus the fact that Zodiac has had major problems....they used a PVC fabric that had the seams come apart and transoms fall off. Supposedly those problems are in the past........

I have an older Avon RIB that I just love; unfortunately Zodiac bought Avon a while back and they just aren't the same.

AB and Caribe make good boats, as does Brig, which is a little harder to find.

Buy a boat made from Hypalon, NOT PVC!!

Minimum size for a console is 12 foot; bigger is better.

You could get a boat for under 4K..... but not with an engine!

If you buy from a "Big Box" marine store, check to see who makes the 'house brand'

Is this a good deal? Zodiac (15') inflatable with 40hp 2-stroke Tohatsu and a trailer... $3,100 (US)?

I've never owned a boat, want to get a low priced one to try for a season to go diving in So Cal... Looks like the motor is made in '89. No idea of age of boat. Any advice on what to look for on a Zodiac, or 2-stroke engines would be appreciated!

+ If it were all new it would be an awesome deal. Seeing as it is old and used it might be junk that someone is trying to get rid of. I purchased a new 16 foot aluminum boat with trailer and engine (15HP) for about $5,000.

Seems like for a couple thousand more you could have a new boat so maybe you should try to get a lower price or save some more and get a new one.

I was wondering if you had thought about this? If you are going diving, How are you going to get back in the boat without swamping it, or do you swamp it then bail?

Good luck
