how to make trailer jack for rc boat/utility trailer

i have a regular home make flat utility trailer that was made out of a boat trailer. i use it on a farm when i maintain the pins for the owners. for the hunting dogs and goats and things. its a muddy mucky Mess of a field in some places. My jeep has a lift on it. with 33 inch tires and it dose fine. but My tailer is low and i end up dragging it through the mud sometimes the wheels aren't even touching the ground i just drag the thing. i want to give the trailer a suspension lift. so i don't have to drag it though the stuff. i want to to roll on its own wheels when i get in the deep stuff. dose anybody make a lift for trailers like that? or would i have to fabricate something on My own?

Flipping the axle is a common way to add height to a trailer. There are kits specifically designed to do this from trailer parts manufacturers like Dexter. It's a complete kit with new spring seats and longer U-Bolts.

You can also replace the springs with taller units, and larger tires may help as well.

I converted a boat trailer into a utility trailer.

There is a green and brown wire running down the right side.

There is a yellow and brown wire running down the left side.

Each wire is carefully soldered and shrink tubed.

There is a white wire (ground) attached to a ring connector and soldered. It's attached to the trailer with a screw. I sanded off the paint to expose bare metal.

The lights don't work.

I'm pretty sure there are no cuts or discontinuities anywhere.

What I think is the problem is that I screwed each lamp in the back to an angle iron. The angle iron is screwed to wood.

So, is that messing things up? Do the lamps have to be screwed to actual metal of the trailer for proper grounding?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

the lights need to be grounded, most ground through mounting bolts, try jumping a ground wire to the mounting bolts

The signs read "NO COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC." I know there is a height restriction because of the low bridges. So it makes sense to restrict trucks from the parkways and I understand that no commercial vehicles are allowed but what about utility trailers, boats or motorcycles on trailers. Is it true that trailers are also restricted from the parkways on Long Island and in New York State?

Yes, in long island "over-the-road" trailer length is restricted to only 48 feet. Don't bring a 53 footer in there, or you will be fined heavily.
