Boat Trailer Suspension

i have a regular home make flat utility trailer that was made out of a boat trailer. i use it on a farm when i maintain the pins for the owners. for the hunting dogs and goats and things. its a muddy mucky Mess of a field in some places. My jeep has a lift on it. with 33 inch tires and it dose fine. but My tailer is low and i end up dragging it through the mud sometimes the wheels aren't even touching the ground i just drag the thing. i want to give the trailer a suspension lift. so i don't have to drag it though the stuff. i want to to roll on its own wheels when i get in the deep stuff. dose anybody make a lift for trailers like that? or would i have to fabricate something on My own?

Flipping the axle is a common way to add height to a trailer. There are kits specifically designed to do this from trailer parts manufacturers like Dexter. It's a complete kit with new spring seats and longer U-Bolts.

You can also replace the springs with taller units, and larger tires may help as well.

I've been given an old 26' power boat that needs some work and its on a tandem axle trailer. The trailer tires are flat and have been flat for awhile so I'm going to replace them to move the boat to my place. My question is where should I jack up each side? The boat has to stay on so theres going to be 4000-5000 (guess) lbs on the trailer. Should I jack at the suspension point between the two tires?

put the jack as close to the tire as possible on the axle of the tire you are working on.

I noticed an odd correlation today as I was doing errands today-whereas people in cars and pickups seemed to be of all body types, only the XL chub-chub 'bo battys were driving SUV's which gave me an odd explanation to the SUV craze: Are Americans hot for SUV's because their XL size bodies require XL sized vehicles? Or did the automakers see a spike in the demographic of fat people nationwide and start hyping SUVs as the oversize proportions of the interiors would feel less humiliating to heftier motorists? Is it due to the possibility that modern day fat people are comparatively fatter on average than the fat people of yesteryear so it takes a strong V8, 4WD, heavy duty suspension and a sturdier truck based chassis to deliver an adequate driving experience to them. I severly doubt that sometime around 1992 our nation suddenly all got into off-roading 4-wheeling camping and pulling trailers and boats so I can't see what the surge in SUV buying otherwise.
