Boat Trailer Storage

This question is for all the boat owners out there who regularly trailer their boat to a public launch site. Beyond the normal expectations of a storage facility such as security, cleanliness, and ease of access, what amenities do boat owners want to see at a dry, open lot storage site? Water? Electricity? Detail area?

Please provide what you would expect to see at a "full service" boat storage facility.

In most boat storage facility there are few if any amenities. The purpose of the storage is to have a place to safely and legally park one's boat. They never supply electricity (at least not in my state). They pick up trash and keep the lot clean. The facility should provide a large dumpster to discard trash and a washdown area is all one can usually expect. When paying only $35 to $100, you're not going to get much.

At a Full Service storage facility, they charge upwards of $300 per month. There you can expect the boat to be removed and placed into the water for you (Dry Stack Storage). They may clean your boat and even keep the batteries charged too. Some of these places will even have indoor storage for those willing to pay the price. Many contract with authorized dealers to have service performed for thee maintenance and upkeep at additional costs. At places like that one can expect a monthly bill of $300 up $1000 depending on the size of boat and additional care you ask for.

How much would I expect to pay to store a camper, RV, or boat on a trailer? I will be storing it for a year and an open lot (with fence) will work fine.
I'm wondering what it would cost to store a camper for one year. I'm in a small town and security isn't an issue, so an open lot with a simple fence would be sufficient. Trailer is about 20ft long.

I'm asking this question because I want to purchase a used trailer for about $3,000 but I can't store it on my property or on the street. So I need to know what storage fees would be so I can make an informed decision.

For my boat, I found a storage yard behind a Mom & Pop vacuum cleaner repair shop in an older part of town near my house for $35/month fenced, uncovered, but well lighted and a family member lives on the premises. No water or electric.

If I winterize it, and get a cover can I just leave it on the trailer or do I have to have indoor storage for it?
It snows a lot here and it will never be used in saltwater (none around for 1500 miles)

No Problem leaving the boat outside. It is done all the time here in Michigan. Getting it shrink wrapped is the best idea, second to that would be a very heavy duty over sized water-proof cover that can reach your trailer. Secure the cover tightly to the trailer so that wind won't be able to disturb it. If you are able, try not to let snow accumulate on top of your cover. If fiber glass, clean and wax hull before putting the boat under covers!

The parking of an RV, boat or trailer, is its placement there for a relatively short amount of time. The storage of an RV, boat, or trailer is the placement there for longer periods of time.
