Boat Trailer Spare Tire

I bought one of those mounts, but am having trouble finding a place to mount it on the trailer. It won't mount to the tongue because its a swing tongue, and has to be folded every time to fit in the garage, and I don't want to mount it towards the rear where it gets dunked in the water every time. I was just wondering what others do.

You might try the Bow-Stop (winch stand). Remember to mount it on the opposite side from the winch handle. Also make sure it clears the boat. look around at other boats at the launch ramp, for boats and trailers like yours. there is a more expensive mount that swings on a arm, attached to a bracket, that you can attach to your tow vehicle. I need to take the bearing nut and cotter pin out just to take the tire off. My spare doesn't have the bearing assembly in it. What do I do? Buy a new bearing assembly for the spare?

Take the whole assembly off and switch over to "Bearing Buddies" then use regular wheels and tires.

I have a bias ply spare for my boat trailer. However, the boat trailer is running radials. Will it hurt to put on the bias ply if I have a blowout?

Won't hurt a thing. But because the radial will give side to side, it may not track straight at highway speeds.

I have a 12 foot boat trailer that I bought to haul my aluminum boat. The trailer is home made. I need a spare tire and rim for the trailer, but I have a problem. The rims on the trailer are split rim style, not split ring. No places around me have a rim like this and most have never seen this style before. Driving out to the country to find a rim like this is out of the question. The rim is held on by the nut and cotter key. It would be cheaper and easier to just by a different trailer than refabricate this trailer. How can I get a rim for this trailer?

It sounds to me as though you have wheels for a piece of farm equipment, as they have wheels like that. I suggest that you get a new axle as the small wheels that you have will wear out quickly and do not have water-proof hubs. You will always be messing around with the wheels and bearings.

I have a boat trailer I'm tring to purchase a spare tire and wheel for, I have to know wheel size and hub fit to purchase the right one.

take a wheel to a tire or wheel dealer they have tools to measure bolt patt hub size back spacing etc.. i am a manger for one
