I took my 2009 Subaru Forester to the dealership for service last Friday. They ran into it with their parts truck. What is a reasonable length of time for them to repair it and return it to me? They destroyed the grill, hood, radiator support, and front left quarter panel.
I'm getting pretty ticked off, because it is the vehicle I use to pull my boat trailer, and it is a 4 day weekend for me.
Bump those other two answers, I would be getting a brand new car with the payments you had left on the one they destroyed! If the dealer cared about you as a customer that is what they would have offered you. And did they drug test the dummy that hit your car. I mean how fast was this idiot going in a parking lot to do this much damage?
I would be going off because you have a right to. Also it would take at most 48 hours to get any part, it should be a priority to them. I would not want that car back if it did that much damage I would be afraid of drive-ability problems in the near future, and would not want them to touch another one of my vehicles.
I mean accidents happen but they should not be jerking you around.

I have a mutineer sailboat. I purchased the trailer boat and sails complete except the sails needed repair. It was $300. I believe it was a good deal. It is large enough to fit about 5-6 people. What i am wondering is the year. I know they were produced in the '70s. I believe mine is an '80s model because the hull is red. Can anybody confirm this? Also i need a knew jib sail. This is part of reason i need to know the year because the sails could be different sizes? Does anyone have a jib sail for sale. I will pay shipping and your asking price within reason. I am also looking for a new outboard bracket. Mine has what looks to be half of one and the actual mount is missing but the bracket is there. Please help. Jeff
sounds like you got a good deal on a great daysailer.
your jib is about 50 sq. ft. and is the following size
luff=15.08', foot=7.29', leach=14.38', luff perp.=6.87'
used jibs are often listed on ebay and you may find one that will fit.
you can also contact your local sail maker and have one built for you.
to learn more about your boat contact this web site
http://mutineer15.org/
they list specs for your boat and show boat cap at 750 lbs. they also have the orig rigging manual available on line.
the above web site can also recommend a sailmaker to you.
there is only one jib size listed for your boat.
hope this helps

I am not clear at all on what "mode" to put my Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L V8 w/ electronic 5-speed overdrive transmission into when I pull a small boat (about 1,000 - 1,200 lbs). I pulled it once and did nothing, leaving it in normal mode with 'overdrive' gear engaged, and that ended up with a trip to Chrysler repair shop to replace some transmission parts that failed - There are 2 other options when you push the button at the tip of the shift lever - First time you push button it says "Tow/Haul" and 2nd time you press button it says "Overdrive Off".
What is the difference, I don't get it ? And which of these 2 modes (if any) to you use to haul around a small 1,200 lb trailer ??
(without burning up the dog gone transmission which seems to be pretty weak so far from my experience !!!)
You use the tow/haul. Your transmission has two overdrives 4th and 5th gears. So in tow/haul position instead of dropping to a lower overdrive the transmission drops to 3rd gear which is 1to1 direct. You have a half ton truck and your towing a half ton load which creates to much heat in 4th and 5th gear overdrive.

Boat Trailer Parts – How To Accessorize It Wisely!
Rollers for transferring the boat (so it can slide on to a trailer bed) with minimal risk to the hull are another good idea. These accessories are useful to stretch across and function as links behind your boat to ensure it stays attached to the trailer unit in case of a problem with breakage of other security device; besides this, owners can look at different kinds of pulleys that can help lt the boat up to the trailer and keep it out of the water ( ).
The only precaution a boat owner needs to take when buying a hitch is to ensure compatibility of the parts to enable ease in hooking up to prevent anyone from stealing these 1 The advantage of such a winch is that this will lock...
