I am looking for a reasonably priced trailer for my Shetland 610 boat.

She is 20ft long and 8ft wide and weighs 3/4 ton.

I want to buy a boat trailer. I am wondering whether I need a boat trailer winch. When I went to a dealer, he tried to sell me a trailer with an electric winch. Do I really need one? It increases the price significantly.

try trailering your boat with a hand crank winch, you can always add the electric winch later if you find that you need it

The boat is 27ft. and ways about 5something with a four ft. draft. Also what is the criteiria for a trailer to handle this boat.

Contact a couple of boat yards in the area where the boat it. They can certainly haul the boat with a travel lift and set it on a trailer. They will also need to take the mast down for transport. This can be simple or complicated depending on the manner in which the mast is stepped(installed). They can put you in touch with a business that owns an appropriate trailer and transport vehicle. A 5000lb plus load takes a serious tow vehicle and trailer with brakes. You want to hire a pro. You may wish to have the bottom properly cleaned and freshly painted before you relaunch.

I am looking for a used boat & Trailer, I would like to find one that is 20'-30' with a good engine, also would like to find one fairly close to where I live, where is a good place to look, I am in Western Maryland. looking for one reasionably priced.

Soundings Magazine is the source......I dont have the specific web page for them but a google search will find it easily.....by the way, a 30 footer is a bit big to pull on a trailer unless you have a big truck / SUV
