Is it reasonable to expect a guest to check before they arrive if hotel parking can accommodate a trailer/boat?

I would check if I was pulling one just to be sure that I wouldn't be taking up too many parking spaces, but then that's me. I would expect a guest to ask especially if they have an oversize vehicle pulling a trailer its the right thing to do. However knowing people you can count on them not asking and pulling up with a big honking truck pulling an even larger trailer.

How do I get from New Jersey to Heckscher State Park with a boat trailer?

I need to get from NJ (Probably George Washington Bridge to Throgs Neck Bridge to LIE)
to Heckscher State Park with a boat trailer. Trailers cannot be driven on parkways in NYS except for the minimum distance necessary to reach the Park.

Which way should I go?

Thanks,
Phil

You could take the LIE to Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway (135) south to Sunrise hwy and then go south at exit 46 on heckscher parkway. This is the website for directions

How many days can a boat or trailer be parked on a San Diego city street?

I can't seem to find the rules on this so I was wondering how long it is legal to park a boat and a toy hauler on the street in the city of San Diego (near Mission Bay/Old Town in particular). It is not in an area with a HOA so whatever the city rules are is what goes.

72 hours. This assumes current licence on the trailer and no outstanding tickets. After the 3 days, the vehicle must be driven at least 1/10th of a mile to be reparked. So pushing it a few yards would not suffice, you would have to hook it up and tow it. Of course all other signs must be obeyed (street sweeping days, etc.). Watch out for the temporary tree trimming signs, they rarely give a full 3 day posting for those. Don't stay in one block too long, lots of people get ticked off and might vandalize the rig, if they thought you would not come by for a while, or if your moves get too predictable or if you have out of state plates. There is a lot of abuse of the system that bothers the locals.

are there devices to make backing up and parking with a trailer(boat) easier/simpler?

This is a link to a wireless portable camera system. We use it at our marina on the forklift, when putting boats up in the racks, on the truck when backing to hook up trailers, and when trailering large boats that reduce your rear view. I've even used it in an engine compartment to see whats going on. Best $300 I've ever spent.

My boat trailer slipped blew forward during windstorm into rear bumper of pickup truck putting dent in bumper?

I don't know whether the bumper repair would be covered under Comprehensive or Collision. Would the boat trailer sliding forward on its own be considered vehicle hitting another vehicle (collision) or act of nature (comprehensive). The truck was parked & locked when this happend. The boat trailer was also unhitched, parked, and wheel chocked however high wind pushed the trailer forward knocking it off the chock stop.

I would handle this as a collision loss.

The wind did not cause damage to your vehicle. Another vehicle caused the damage. Your deductible will apply.

  • Design plans are exploratory | LETTER TO THE EDITOR - South ...

    To the editor:

Nice try but no cigar! Didn’t hurt.

Clear information is always refreshing for dialogue at city council meetings in Langley.

Regarding the Wharf Street land swap/circulation plan, I offer the following information, since I was named in the article as its author, correctly:

I volunteered my services, pro bono, to explore parking and boat-trailer circulation on port property as a test for the larger approved plan and to end a stalemate (deficient data).

Plans for the port property are exploratory, and do not bind the port to one approach.

I was asked to prepare a parking and circulation plan that maximized parking spaces, protected the waterfront for pedestrian use and facilitated boat-trailer traffic in and out of the site.
