Boat Trailer Guide Posts

What is the recommended clearance for the inside vertical guide posts on a pontoon? Mine seem quite far from the pontoons, with the result that the boat doesn't always settle centered (parallel) onto the trailer support bunks when loaded, e.g. windy conditions. I also assume all of them should be the same.

On all my trailers I have them just touching the side so the boat is forced to center as the pipes should roll when U guide the boat up the trailer.If U leave to much space the boat will bend the poles out as far as 5" which make the boat to far to 1 side.

Have you ever jack-knifed a truck and small (empty/unloaded) trailer? This is an inexpensive way to reduce the probability of that happening.

Adjusting Entries
6/30AJR has an arrangement with local shuttle driver to move vehicles while boats are on the river. The charge is $25 per vehicle moved, due by 10th of following month. A count of the shuttles show 11 shuttles for June. (11x25)
