What is the best trailer bearing grease for boat trailers?

Need a good washout proof grease for my boat trailer.

By far -"Krazy Grease" is the best product I have come across for this application.
I own two powerboats which I frequently transport on trailers to different fishing destinations.
Every other grease I have used washes out when the trailer enters the water. In contrast
I have found that "KrazyGrease" never washes out. I believe some of the major outboard
motor manufactures use KrazyGrease as a permanent lubricant for their propellers.

How do you work the gun and apply marine bearing grease to a boat trailer?

3 ounce cannisters, Sierra gun

Load the canister into the gun, the cartridge is labeled as to what end goes in first. Once you put the gun back together release the plunger that applies pressure to the grease. Squeeze the trigger until grease comes out and then put the nozzle on the fitting and pump away until you see the grease come out of the bearing buddy. If you dont have bearing buddies get them. They keep pressure on the grease to lube the bearings. Grease often.

Can I use trailer bearing grease on my bicycle's bearings?

I just bought a new rim for my bicycle and the bearings clearly need to be greased. I haven't opened it up but I bet they have never seen grease yet. I have a lot of general-purpose bearing grease that I used to repack my boat trailer. Will this work on my bike?

That will work, I just use a multipurpose grease on all my bearings and pedal threads.

How often do I put grease into the hubs on my boat trailer?

It has bearing buddies on it.

push against the pressure plate with your finger -- if it "gives" any at all, you're good to go. If it won't move, give it just enough grease until you see it start to move.

overfilling is a sure way to blow out an inner seal.

How do you repack the hubs on a boat trailer?

Can you just add grease or do you need to replace the bearing/seals etc? Its a single axle and no breaks 1996 Spartan pontoon boat trailer but it's new to me.

go to the store and buy some quality bearing grease
Jack up one wheel of the trailer. Block the other wheel
Take off the dust cap
Remove the cotter pin
Remove the big nut
Remove the wheel.
Clean everything really good
Look around on the ground for the inner bearing. [because you probably dropped it when you removed the wheel]
Place the inner bearing back in its place [tapered side in]
Pack the bearing and the hollow area with your new grease.
Replace the wheel.
Take the outer bearing and cover it [liberally] with your new grease
Slide the outer bearing over the Axel
Install the nut. Tighten to it is snug. then apply 1kelp of torque
look good
put the cotter key in
put the dust back on.

neat huh

if yo have an expensive boat I would recommend you take the trailer to your friend the back yard mechanic

  • Buy Cheap

  • Swing arm grease - Wrist Twisters

For those that have never done it, I would do it sooner than later, since there is very little grease installed at the factory. Same with the steering stem bearings and wheel bearings. Most guys buying new dirt bikes strip the bike down and re-grease every pivot before they even ride the bike. Street riders don't usually think about it too often.
