Boat And Jet Ski Trailer

Could Volkswagen Golf / GTI tow a Jet Ski including a trailer with a hitch? Also, consider driving up hills with it, driving down hills (braking), and loading and unloading the Jet Ski / Sea Doo / Waverunner / Personal Watercraft to and from the boat launch.

it will do it not problem. I know of a guy who tows his boat with his 2.0 jetta.

i've seen this done with boats...how heavy are jet skis...could 2 people just lift it off? more specifically a 1994 seadoo xp 2-seater...and if i dont have cinder blocks, what would be best to put it on...

Just get a few mates and slide it off onto a few old tyres with carpet scraps draped over them - soft and cheap!

I've never boughten a boat or jet ski before & i'm not sure what to look for if its a good deal or not. For instance, there is one thats $2k, its a 97' Sea Doo Bombardier SP jet ski (what does that mean), appearantly it doesn't have an hour gage so he doesn't know how many hours are on it, I asked to have a mechanic look at it and he said he didn't have the time to do that because he needs to sell it fast & has lots of offers on it (well I ain't dumb with the whole "lots" of people interested, i've pulled that one before). I guess I just need to know what to expect, is this a good deal (also comes with a trailer), anything wrong with this model? Slooow dowwwn. I t sounds like you don't have much experience with jet skis. Step one is to figure out what you like. Go hit the beach, check some skis out, maybe rent a couple. PWC are very unique, and each one is different. Some are small and nimble, some are large and stable. Everyone rides differently, too. Some people like to ride solo, some two-up.

To answer your specific questions: 2k for a 97 sp with trailer isn't a smoking deal, and it isn't that great a ski. Being a newbie, don't even think of buyiong one without taking it to a mechanic, 10 years isn't too old, and 2 inch balls and four pin flats are pretty standard. Good Luck!

I'm new to the world of boating and are considering different options. I know that sometimes I'll end up going by myself and would like to know if there is a way for me to get the jet ski (or other motorized boat) in the water, leave it there while I park the car and trailer, and come back to go boating. Please feel free to give any details because I'm completely new to this world.

yes one person can launch and ride a jet ski, sea doo doo. The proper launch ramp etiquete is that you shall not impede the progress of others. If you have to tie up the ski, to park, do not block the ramp or dock.

My husband and I are thinking about getting jet skis and I found a listing on www.craigslist.com. I e-mailed the seller for more information and pictures, and this is the response I got back:

"I have never had to replace a thing on these skis. Like i said in my ad, the choke knob is missing on the one ski but it doesnt affect its functioning at all so i never bothered to replace it. I did source the part and it came out to be 12 dollars or so if you really wanted to replace the part. Other than that everything is in perfect working order. The trailer is fully tagged and I believe everything was just renewed with PA DOT and the Fish and Boat Commision. As far as price I am negotiable to an extent. Please feel free to call me at 717-309-1146 if you have any other questions or would like to come check out the ski's for yourself."

The asking price for the skis (2) trailer and accessories is $4,500. Links to the pictures will be added shortly. What do you think about the price etc?

for 1) 13 yo and 1) 14yo with trailer i don't think its a great deal. it can be an inexpensive way to get on the water, but don't plan on them going real fast. the advantage is being able to buy 2 and get a dbl trailer. most used ones are singles with single trailers.
