1949 Johnson 10 HP motor. Uses double fuel line and connector. I have both, but can't get the motor running, even though the person we bought it from tested it and it worked. I think the problem is definitely with how we are attempting to get gas from the pressurized (how do we know for sure it's a pressurized tank??--it appears to be) fuel tank into the motor.
all double line connector engines use a pressure type tank. one line is for gas the other for impulses from the motor to pressurize the tank (air line) look closely on the connectors and on the tank they are marked air or fuel do not cross or misplace the lines it will not work. there is a primer button(size of a nickel) on one end or on some tanks near the middle. after you hook up the gas line close the tank lid securely(cant vent to atmosphere as newer ones) push in on the primer button rapidly until it gets hard or you feel resistance. this pressurizes the tank. if in doubt look at the clear filter bowel and watch it fill with gas. then choke and start the engine. if all holds pressure the engine impulses will keep the tank pressurized while running. ensure that the fuel line and connector dont leak particularly at the connector. if this leaks you will need a new one(new orings can be installed in the connector but the brass bushings usually are too worn to keep the oring sealing properly). the connectors are quite expensive so make sure. after the motor is shut off crack open the tank cap carefully and let the pressure out. this will prevent the boat filling with gas if something leaks. leave the cap loose as the sun can and will expand the gas in the tank causing leaks if there are any. this was standard practice for safety. Its also(pressure leaks) the main reason this system was dropped. ps a fuel pump can be adapted to this style motor ask back if interested. good boating! by the way the best way to replace the fuel line is with two equal lines of the same length tie wrapped together or in wire loom. use 3/16 th or 1/4 inside dia line. the new reinforced type. I have used this method in the shop on customers motors and my own ones, works great!!

I have a 1971 Johnson 60 hp & a 1968 Evinrude 55 hp, both are 3 cyl. Will the carburetors interchange between these, or fit off of any other year or hp motors. Thank you.
First look at the mounting plate back of carb to manifold if the polt holes line up then yes....If you should need parts or copies of the orig manual for those motors you can email me I have the orig manuals for both motors!
And why do they? is it only nostalgia?...

I recently purchased a boat with a 135 HP Evinrude. It is an older model for sure, maybe 80s vintage. Model # 135383m Serial # J0008469.
your motor is a 1984
My dad just gave me a boat and trailer (nothing big but it floats, it's in AWESOME shape, and i dont have to row). On the title it says it is a 1965 model aluminum V-bottom boat 14'. Its no yacht by any stretch of the imagination but my grandfather bought it brand new in 1965 so i love it. My question is this; my buddy, who fishes also, says the boat is a sea nymph. I've looked all over and cant seem to find ANY sea nymphs older than 1970's. It has a really cool looking sea king motor on it, vintage colors too; mint green and white. I absolutely love the whole package's vintage look but just am not sure of the years. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
You say "I've looked all over and cant seem to find ANY sea nymphs older than 1970's."
Yet, if they are to be believed, the first line on the subject page on Wiki says that they were established in 1946 and implies they were bought up by Lowe Boats in 1971.
If their facts are correct (and they may not be) it would seem that yours is a pre-Lowe model.
If you mean you have looked for actual boats, pre 1970s to no avail, then it sounds a fairly plausible possibility that yours is a rare one.
