I have an Evenrude boat motor and I need to find out what year motor is is and how many horse power it is.The motor has been painted and the only numbers I can find on it say starboard 329910.If these are the serial numbers can someone tell me what year and horse power this boat motor is Id appreciate it.

Unfortunantly, I can't help you other than give you Evinrude's home page and see if you can identify your motor. please try to find more info about your motor and then I will be able to help. For now, go to: http://www.evinrude.com/ and try to find your motor. good luck

Bomber Boat motor start 50 hp Evinrude

Motor runs good and lower unit is good. the johnson has a new empeller and the evenrude needs one. I will order and install one with some money ...

how much would a 100 hp evenrude boat motor be worth?

It's marked as a 1999 and is still in it's original shipping crate. Never been unpacked, in new condition.
- 1999 Evinrude 100hp outboard
- two (2) stroke
- model J100WPXESS
- serial number G03834017
- new - never been used

1,500 to 2,000

How much does it cost to replace my piston in 98 evenrude 140hp boat motor outbourd? Do I have to do all pisto

Was told 800 for all by person got from. Where can I get it done quickly and cheaply around ontario or kawartha lakes, and do I have to replace all if only one piston gone

Well i am afraid that your engine repair is not so much parts expensive but labor expensive, and NO you don`t have to replace all pistons and rings, only the ones damaged but while the engine is torn down it would be a good idea to replace the rings on all pistons since the engine is nearly 10 years old and the compression will be way down on those other cylinders and you want to keep them balanced if at all possible.
I was born in the Kawarthas and spent nearly 25 years as a marine mechanic up there and since I`m not there I will give the second best mech.lol.Take your boat to Gannon's Narrows Marine just outside of Buckhorn and talk to Warren,He is one of the best OMC mechanics I have ever met.He will treat you fairly and the work will be done as quickly as possible.
Good luck and happy boating

im trying to figure out the year of a Evenrude boat motor...does anybody know of a web site to use?

ive tried several evenrude sites with no luck...all i have is the serial and model numbers

The model year is derived from the 7th and 8th digits of the model number. Johnson/Evinrude has used a system since 1980 that uses the word INTRODUCES to decipher model year. The letter I is the number 1, N is the number 2, S is 0 etc. So if the 7th and 8th digits are, for example, EN it would be a 1992 model. Check out the link below for further info.

1952 Evenrude boat motor wont start?

I have a 1952 Evenrude boat motor that will not start. it has a new powerhead, points, and alot of other stuff. i got this motor for free and was told if i can fix it i can have it. so after rebuilding all of that and the carb, me and my friends have tried to start it multiple times but it wont start. We found that there is gas in the bowl of the carb, but when we take the plugs out, they are dry and dont smell like gas. so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. what is stopping the gas from getting from the carb into the motor?
Thanks

Van- if you had included the term "outboard" people who are unfamiliar with boats from the 50's would have a chance.

First do a compression test. Can be 50# real dry but must get to 65# to run.

If you would put a little oil in the carb to help seat the reed valves and some down the spark plug holes you will get some compression and some fuel flow. Next mix up some 24/1 fuel oil mix and shake it real good to get it mixed. Squirt a small amount directly into the carb and pull thru. (put in a bucket of water as they have a rubber water pump which will go away in 15 seconds of dry running.

If nothing, put a spark plug on a battery charger clamp with a hose clamp and test the spark. If no spark, track down the kill switch (if equipped) and take the tin plate off the flywheel (under the starter pawl) and clean and adjust the points. If still no start, get a steering wheel//harmonic balancer puller and --using the pawl screw holes- (not to deep with the puller bolts 1/4-20 ) and pop the flywheel off. There will be the coils and condensers. 4 screws hold the whole thing to the engines slip ring. (also hold one end of a coil on) Take it all to the marina for testing.

  • BRP's Evinrude to power P1 SuperStock | Frode's blog

Powerboat P1 Management Ltd (P1) today unveiled its new P1-28SS race boat at Autosport International at the NEC in Birmingham, U.K. The new P1-28SS race boat is rigged with BRP’s Evinrude 250 H.O. E-TEC engine.

Powerboat P1 Chairman Asif Rangoonwala said: “There has been much speculation about which engine would be powering the new P1 SuperStock race boat for 2011. BRP’s outstanding environmental credentials were a key factor when considering which engine we should use on our racing boat. BRP was the first and is the only outboard engine manufacturer ever to receive the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Air Technology Excellence Award in the U.S. The engine meets and surpasses emission standards of the EPA, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and the European Union.”
