i have a 60 hp. evinrude out board motor came with boat i just bought.told has scored cylinders and not useable.looking for advice as to what to do with it.trash it and buy a new one.and is there an easy fix for this motor.

I would like to know if I invest in a electric boat motor if I will be stranded on a windy day. Is an electric boat motor compaired to a 9.9 hp gas motor?
HP is an HP whether it's electric, gas diesel or steam. That's the short answer. Length of running time on charge is the limiting factor.

Don't know about Australia, but in the US, most states don't require a license for a personal owned boat of any horse power.

National Boat Show's (NBS) decision to place power and sail in the
same hall at the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show makes plenty of sense, creating a centralised hotbed of craft for visitors.
Helped by the spectacular backdrop of the new Princess 32M, there is definitely a new buzz around the South Hall, however, the noticeably small number of sails is an issue, with one sailboat-owning visitor complaining that ExCeL had turned into a "motorboat show".
NBS is to be congratulated on its efforts with the new-look show, but surely the sailing boat community needs to be better represented if London is to truly flourish?
