motor is not performing properly hard starting i was not puting in enough oil i my fuel also how can I clean my carberator without removing it

Spray carb cleaner into it while its running. It comes in a spraycan and you can get it at any auto parts store. There is also stuff you can put in the gas, but thats usually just kerosene.

This is an electric motor in a pontoon boat. The motor won't run. I've done a load test on the batteries and they seem fine. I'm going to do a voltage drop test tomorrow. The manufacture, Duffy, won't help because my shop is not a dealer, and they only work with dealers.
If anyone knows some basic electric motor troubleshooting tests that might help me diagnose this motor I'd like to hear some suggestions. This is my first electric motor and I'm kinda lost. I have no wire diagrams or anything else to guide me. I've spent a few minutes doing some simple internet searches and haven't found anything too helpful.

will the motor turn over it's not froze up or burned out then it's a matter of wire elimination . hot and ground are the only wires coming off the batteries

I don't know much at all about boat motors. This 85Hp black Mercury won't crank. What do I need to look for to get it working. won't even turn over

I'm in line with biff if the motor is seized up (locked up) try using marvel mistic oil you can buy this at wal mart in the auto section ..... remove spark plugs lift engine up all the way fill cylinders with oil allow to drip thru carbs then take a screw driver to the flywheel with moderate force try to move it a tooth at a time in each direction keep filling the cylinders it will break free may take sum time to do so but it will break free...
Then try to turn the engine over either by starter or by rope to expell the excess oil, then try to start engine with fuel mixed 60:1 this is a very rich mix it will smoke like hell but run it in a barrel of water make sure it is pissing water (water pump is working) then clean spark plugs and run a 50:1 fuel mix this is what your motor should be ran on anyway 50:1..... Be sure to use TCW 3 2cyl oil.....

I own an Evinrude Lark 35hp boat motor that has no battery. I can't get it to turn over by priming it and pulling the starter cable. I need someone who really knows their stuff for this one. I need to know if I'm doing everything correctly and if there's something wrong with the motor. If something's wrong, I need help troubleshooting.

The Lark was a magneto ignition. You need the key to stop it, not to start it. So be ready for what you wish for. Next they had a mercury kill switch on the throttle handle. So if you over throttle it, it won't start. Some had an automatic choke.(Not the electric switched pull down, but a real auto choke like an old chevy) It didn't work, set choke on manual. That said, do you have spark--with key disconnected or "On". Is any fuel getting to the plugs? Take one out and see if it is wet.. Is the engine still in a running condition--ie. does it have any compression. At least 80# but more important - are they very close to the same. Did you ever run it out of the water. If so It will need a water pump.

If you can solve any of the fore mentioned problems- it should start or there may be vacuum problems, seals not working or ignition problems.
