Quicksilver is the aftermarket division of Mercury Marine products.
Is this for an Inboard/Outboard, or outboard?
Take this serial number, the type (I/O or outboard), and the Horsepower of it to a Mercury dealership or Mercury service shop. They should be able to easily tell you the year of its manufacture and other important details.
Preventing Boat Theft | Home Alarm
How do you stop a thief from stealing your boat? You know how to lock the doors to your home or car, but you can’t as easily shut off access to your boat to potential invaders. Many people believe that the theft of marine equipment and boats themselves is uncommon, due to the awkwardness of disposing of a boat or the skill necessary to remove a water craft from its mooring. Unfortunately, marine theft is a growing criminal enterprise, with almost thirty thousand boats stolen every year in the U.S. It isn’t only the boats themselves that are stolen, either, there’s the marine equipment you don’t take home with you – from radios and GPS systems to fishing rods and reels.
And, many thefts occur not when a boat has been docked in a long term facility but while owners are just refueling or visiting friends on another boat in the same marina.
