How can I find how to instructions for boat motor repair online for free?

Trying to repair a 1985 Johnson 300hp boat motor and need intructions and trying to find online for free so don't have to buy manual but all I can find is manuals for sale so thinking maybe looking in wrong places so was hoping someone out there would know where/how to look. Thanks.


good luck, only thing i have found is an online parts cat for omc. you can get a repair manual on ebay for about $25, try www.epc.brp.com

Where can I fin online boat motor repair manuals to get wiring schematics?

I want to know if anyone here can give me a link to a site where I can find online PDF's or printable mercury black max schematics for a 1985 150 horse motor. Thanks. Oh yeah and I need them to be FREE!


On-line for free you wont find it but when I get into trouble where I cannot get the info on-line or from the computer I visit my local public library........

Mercury 200 boat motor repair ?

I have a 2002 Mercury 200XL Saltwater engine. I need to replace the water pump, but I can figure out how to remove the small fin above the prop. There is a bolt above the fin, but I cant get is loose. I tried wd-40, impact wrench, inpact driver, breaker bar. Is there a but under the fin? How does the fin come off?


On the top of the tail of the gearcase, there is a plastic plug about 1" diameter. Remove the plug, and inside is the trim tab bolt. You will need a 14mm socket and extension. Once the tab is off, you will see the last bolt holding the geacase on. Mark the tab before you remove it, for correct alignment when re-installing.

is it possible to repair a boat motor that is siezed?

the motor has been idle for sometime
the motor is a gasoline motor and has sat unused in a barn or building of sorts,, I don't know anything else


Is it just from sitting unused that it wont spin or turn over??? if so put Marvel Oil in piston thru sparkplug hole and give it some time to penatrate, then try to turn motor slowly!!should free up? if motor is damaged from an accident or blown up ? tear down rebuild, and good luck as a boat motor is expensive when it comes to repair parts!!
