how can I buy a good price new or used motoryacht (45 to 55 feet) from taiwan or china.?

Id like to go direct to a manufacturer and buy either a old stock boat or one that is at a discount price , im loking for a twin engine semi displacement hull , 45 to 55 feet

Go on the Diesel Duck website. Those boats were designed in the states and many are built in China. If you follow links you will come across some connections. In San Diego there is a Naval Architect : Arthur Defever. His designs have been built in the Orient for years. Better to work with or through an established design. Less hassles, better resale.

Ended up buying this Orrion Boat this summer. Was taken care of like a baby. Haven't had a lick of trouble from the Volvo Penta 285 4 cylinder ...

What would be a good name for this story? I can't think of one. (Censored)?

I wrote this story. I'm not done with it yet. I'm only 15 and it would be good to know if you enjoyed it. So, if you can think of a title, that would be awesome. Also, leave a review please.

I

“Do you think we will ever go home?” I asked. See, me and my friend joined the Marines after the 2030 bombing of the White House. Today, its 2033 and the world is at war. Think, its only been about 30 years since our last war. This time, I think were screwed. China has been invading countries left and right, they control some of Europe and Asia. The United States army was sent in to fight the b******* and we almost completely fell apart before we even hit land. That’s why there is a war. Me and my buddy are on the first boat to Russia, we need them before the Chinese take over. Russia has been holding it’s own since the war began about 3 years ago. “I don’t know, Tyke, I don’t know...”
Times have been tough. My dad died in Iraq about 24 years ago in 2007. A pack of remote explosives called C4 killed him and his platoon. My mom committed suicide after the news was brought to us. She blew her brains out, right in front of me and my sister. My sister did not want anything to do with the war until the White House was bombed. That was where my uncle was. Most of my friends died in the bombing of the Atlantic in 2031. Only some made it to India, only to be killed by the Chinese.
I should consider the United States lucky. If Russia was taken over, more nuclear warheads would be at risk than you can imagine, 25,000. President John Lincoln has issued a nuclear threat in the U.S. but the President doesn’t matter these days. The Americans do whatever they want. “I just want Americans to come together. I f****** hate America these days.” Captain Ross was always saying that, that and “Hot d***!” He is probably the most relaxed captain. He didn’t smoke much, only after a traumatic experience. It calmed him down.
“Hey Captain, why are we on a boat, and not a plane?” Jake asked him questions all the time. Jake was my friend. He was the only friend that I had that was still a private.
“Well, the Chinese would move in by plane and we wouldn’t want to be shot down, would we?” Captain Ross loved to do this to people, make them feel stupid. Jake looked down on his lap and studied his pistol. “No sir...”
I started to laugh until I heard a rumble. I walked over to Captain, who had walked inside, and told him what I heard. He moved out on deck and yelled, “S***! Everyone grab rockets! Enemy bombers, 3 of ‘em!”
We all ran downstairs and grabbed the rockets. When we got back upstairs, the planes were very close. I shot the first rocket. I felt the heat of the rocket as it left the base. It burnt my face a bit and the recoil of the rocket scraped off a piece of skin from my shoulder. I missed my first shot. I took another and my shoulder started to bleed. I hit it. Corporal Sean Austin, one of the most accurate men on the boat, hit a plane on the first shot. The last plane returned fire and we all hit the deck. It wasn’t the most accurate plane, but it took out one of our men on the boat. He was Corporal Jason Hall. Lieutenant Jill Fields, the only girl on the boat, hit the third plane. The debris of the planes crashed into the ocean. “God help us, its going to be a long ride.”

II

The aftermath of the battle was horrid. The was a heavy smoke and little pieces of plane were scattered in the water. The smell was sour, burning bodies and jet engine fuel. One body landed on the bow of the boat with a piece of the wing of the plane. We examined the body and the plane part that fell, we all did. “S***, you have to be kidding me.” Captain Ross took out a cigar and started to smoke like he never did before. I took another look at the body. It was an American. His eyes were burned out of its skull and his skin was almost all torn off. He was heavily burnt and was still twitching a bit. I looked at the plane piece and saw an American flag painted on it. “They were returning to America, they were going home.”
He took the cigar out of his mouth to tell us something. “They were injured soldiers, they were going to die anyway.”
“What are you going to tell the Commander in America?” Again, Jake never stopped asking questions. “Screw ‘em” Ross threw his cigar into the ocean.
He realized that the Commander would find out sooner or later, but he hoped it would be later. He knew they would find out when no planes returned.
We started to clear the charred remains of the battle with our own people. It was dead silent. No one spoke for at least an hour. It was like the silence before a battle but for us, it was the silence before a disaster.
“Captain J. S. Ross, this is your commander. You guys f***** up big. I cannot believe you shot down a plane, an American plane. I hope you realize, you are going to be stripped of your rank when you return.” At least he said ‘when you return’ and not ‘if you return’.
“F*** militar

Why dont Americans realise the UK saved them during WW2? Why the fuss about you saving us?

Had we sided with Germany you would have had Nazi Germany, together with Britain and its empire, including manpower and resources from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, South Africa. Middle East, Indo-China etc...and not forgetting the strategic importance of certain places.

In addition to that you would have the wight of the Japanese Empire thrown in also. Other Axis powers such as Italy, Romania, Hungary,Austria and nominally Finland also would have to be added.

Spain, Portugal and a number of South American countries were broadly sympathetic to the Nazis also, particularly Argentina, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay.

Also, it must be remembered that at the start of WW2 the USA was not prepared for war. Their airforce did not initially have anything to match the Japanese Zero fighters, let alone the ME109 or Spitfire.

At this stage the US Army was under equipped, its troops not combat trained or ready, and they were woefully lacking in heavy armour....in fact throughout the war, the USA never built a better tank than the Sherman, which was no match for the Tiger or Panzer 4, or the British Centurion, which was invented just before the end.

The Royal Navy alone was still larger than the US Navy at the outbreak of war, without taking into account the German, Japanese and Italian navies.

Nuclear weapons- Without the help of exiled Jewish and European scientists the USA would never have developed the nuclear bomb.

Also, it was Germany that invented the first guided missile, and also U Boats, and Britain the Jet Engine and the Computer

Russia would never have been able to cope with both Axis and British Forces attacking from the West, Britain attacking from the South from its bases in the Middle East, possibly also through western China via India, and a Japanese assault from the East.

They would also not have had the aid that Britain in fact gave them in WW2.

It would have been possible to overwhelm Russia, then surround the USA, Cutting it off by sea, then launching a land assault through Canada, and a seabourne assault from both the Pacific and Atlantic simultaneously.
Alfred B read the question old china then have a rethink and delete the tripe you wrote. Is your head on backwards mate?
Rayhere its medication time mate.

too complex a question for early on a sunday morning, but suggest that many Americans won't appreciate this, however some of what you suggest may be true, but we will never know.
I only dislike it when some misguided Americans bang on about how they came to the rescue like the cavalry and won it all, without knowing much about WW2 and its aftermath

no i am referring to the people who know nothing about the war, and how it still took years before America jumped in, and
by the way Mr Churchill one of my heros was indeed half American.

Are those Indian/ Chinese "STAR" marine diesel engines any good?

I've just stumbled upon a website offering a brand of marine outboards and propshaft motors I've never heard of before. The brand is apparently "Star", and the motors are made in India and China.
I'm building a whole zoo of crazy little boats for home use at present, and I am looking for a cheap, little diesel.
Are those any good?
"Home use" meaning commuting on the Otago Harbour in Southern New Zealand, not my bath tub.
;-)

Tahini: you should have provided your web-site !

General comments:

1. if they are built in India AND in China then you are dealing only with a distributor.

I would not trust any Indian small diesel engine. Not yet.
Aren't you the guru on "made in India" ?

The Chinese diesel engine manufacturers usually know what they do. They cannot afford to build "garbage", given the scale of their production volumes.

2. Newstar-Marine is a distibutor and engine rebuilder. See:
http://www.newstar-marine.com.tw/index-e g.htm

3. the other "Star" which came up in my quick search was
http://www.sms-star.com/en_01_company.as p
They would not be a Diesel engine manufacturer/ rebuilder..

4. there is a boat seller in NZ, almost certainly only a distributor/ reseller -- hope your Kiwi readers/ fans can comment:

5. what is wrong with Yanmar?

7. and finally any cc'd (Chinese copied) "Deutz" engine would be way too big for your purposes

High point: The Hoegh Beijing is 12 stories high!

Low point: Leaving the lovely Abela’s and beautiful NZ in a rush

No point: Steve talking to the Chinese crew in Chinglish, surely that makes him more difficult to understand!?

Sporting point: they have a basketball ring on deck, Steve is a very happy boy

Huge Fact : You can fit all the land in the entire world into the Pacific. It is that HUGE !!

As I write we have just boarded the Hoegh Beijing, our home for the next couple of weeks. We’re waiting to leave Auckland Port to cross the Pacific to Mexico. We need to leave the ship in Mexico and meet Martha in Grays Harbour on the west coast of the US. Due to the unprecedented nature of what we are doing, there are no USA customs procedures in place so attempting to disembark the ship in the USA could fail, the outcome; Martha is driven off the ship in the US… myself and Steve are stuck on the ship and head off towards Japan, not so cool! So Mexico for us, the USA for Martha. We have no real idea of where in Mexico we are getting off so fingers crossed it won’t be too nasty. A little adventure awaits. The good news… we still get to cross the Pacific and more importantly cross the date line and equator on board a ship! I believe there is a ceremony for both, wish us luck!
