If the cooling system is in good working order, what possible way is there for it to over heat?

The "flywheel fan" turns at the same speed as the engine. If the engine is heavily loaded it slows down, so it's not cooling as well and at the same time generating more heat. See Answer above.

What are some valid reasons as to why this fact is true?

In my experience that's not always the case in fact I'd say they are more noisy. But it's a different pitch. You can put a water cooled engine in an engine room and insulate it for sound, but an air cooled needs to be have large air ducts, and it's difficult to isolate the sound.

As opposed to any other cooling system, what are the advantages?

1. Smaller and lighter.
2. Less corrosion in the block and the lower unit if equipped
3 they don't waste power on pumps
4 less maintenance

a part from my outboard engine broke and i dont know what its called, i know it prevents the engine from jumping up and down when im taking it back home on the freeway. Its like a lever that you pull out.
First i lift the engine up and it gets stuck in mid air. Then im supposed to let a lever out then i drop the engine and it gets stuck on the lever. it hold the engine nice and sturdy but that part broke but i dont know the name. BTW its and evinrude outboard motor

650=750 it has a shift kill if shifts hard lower idle down> The idle air mix> screw in till Rpm start to drop back out 1/4 turn same on both sides double check them> To the Rpm
Same on quad & holley> Make sure timing is correct>
