it is a late 70's 14 foot aluminum lund jon, with a 25 hp 1998 4 stroke mercury. It is electric start but I'm not sure if it is EFI or carburator, does this matter? The trailer needs new wiring and a paint job. The boat itself is in good shape, dent free, stored indoors. It definitely needs new oars. The seller wants $2000. Is it worth that?
This motor is carbureted. We went over some issues in your last question. If the compression is below 120 psi, small 4 stroke O/Bs are hard to start, and will not idle correctly. A rebuild for that motor will set you back about $800, parts and labour. By the way, that is a lot of motor for that boat. We rigged a new 25 EFI on a 14" Lowe this summer, it made for a bit of a scary ride in rough water.
Lund is a great boat (another Brunswick/Mercury product), I have an 18 adventurer that i beat up pretty bad fishing in (over beaver dams, through rapids, rocky shorelines), it's 12 years old and still doesn't leak.
To re-light your trailer, and replace/service the wheel bearings, probably another $120.
