Ok, fine .. But where is the question?

I doubt if you will get any interest here since I don't even know what state your in and without a PRICE - your ad is worthless!

A 18 foot boat is HARDLY a "ski boat" and 180 horses is very minimal. Whats with the "new engine"? And generally when a boat has a new engine, I would STAY FAR AWAY FROM IT. Most of the time, something else ill go wrong and the aftermarket engines and the shade tree mechanics that install them never seem to get it right..

You better have a GOOD PRICE for what your trying to sell and this monkey business your trying to pull here is not getting it!

You have to DEFINE what a "good price" is. When I sold my boat I mentioned it was "xxx dollars below Kelly Blue Book." ANd you have to tgell them the YEAR!!! Don't think people ready to buy a ski boat are dumb. We all know that Kelly is a starting point and you need to say if you are above or below them.

Please keep your meanless ads off this forum.

Thanks,

James Hart

Any suggestions for a ski boat accessory power source that doesn't drain the battery?
Interior

We have a Larson I/O. My husband enjoys the built-in radio, but can only listen to it for short durations because it drains the battery needed to start the motor. What alternatives to the main battery are there?

A radio should not drain the battery that quickly. Do you need to have the ignition on to listen to the radio and something else is draining the battery?

How do Larson boats compare?
Leg w/ Swim ladder

I am thinking of buying a 2006 Larson 180 sports. What are some pros and cons versus other 18 ft sport/ski boats. Also any thoughts on jet vs prop.

Larson makes a very good boat for the money. They are not going to perform like a boat designed exclusively for skiing like a Mastercraft or Ski Nautique & others. Larsons are designed & to handle a wide variety of uses, they are comfortable and you will have no trouble skiing off of a Larson with the 190hp Merc package , better yet the LX with 220 hp package. Larsons are not going to stand up to constant abuse like wave jumping etc, the interiors are strong, but not bullet proof. They will take a fair amount of punishment and that is more than the average user dishes out. In their price range they are one of the best values for the money when it comes to versitility.

I am buying a Larson 234 deck boat. Is a 5.0 Volvo 220hp engine enough to pull a 220 lb. skier from the water?
Console

My husband loves to ski and I want a social boat. We found a 23 ft. deck boat that has 220 h.p. volvo engine. I want to know if I have 10 people on the boat, will it still pull him out of the water with no problem? Also, any advise for first time boat owner is appreciated!

This is a bit long, but it's info you should all know.

As a first time boat owner, you must be 100% informed on all areas of operation, cost, maintaince, boating laws, and safety for your boat. Failure to do this will result in either shelling out thousands in repairs or hundreds and hundreds in fines and fees for boating laws violated.

Your boat has an "Inboard" engine, inboard means it is permenantly mounted inside the boat. This means you absolutely must have your boat's engine system winterized each year before the threat of freezing temperatures comes. All it takes is one good freeze to destroy, YES destroy your engine without winterization.

Annual things that must be done each year, NOT optional...

Late Spring (no chance of freezing) - Dewinterization.

Whenever needed - engine oil change

Fall - lower unit lube change AND winterization.

Not trying to frighten you away from the experience, just get fully informed on how to be a responsible boater.

Now about your capacity question...

The 2009 Larson Escape 234 is rated for 12 passengers max, however it does not list the max passengers & gear on the specs information. I'm sure even a few years earlier model will be close to 12 passenger capacity.

Having an engine with enough horsepower is only half of the solution. The other half is not heavily loading your boat full of weight. Anytime you exceed 3/4 of the max capacity and gear weight listed on the capacity information plate on the boat, you get crappy boat performance.

Keep in mind when it says a max capacity of 12, it means a max capacity of an average adult weight nearing 150 to 180 pounds. If you have passengers who are overweight, the number of passengers will need to be even fewer.

So if you have 5 average weight adults and 3 overweight adult passengers, you could be at 90% of your max weight limit. Keep in mind this is a vague but fairly accurate estimate.

My recommendation is that you keep the passenger and gear to less than 3/4 of boat capacity weight limit, that's probably about 7 people max. Then rotate the passengers every 30 mins or hour so everyone can ride and/or get pulled on a towable.

If any guests complains about being left at the dock/shore to wait their turn, tell them to go and buy their own bloody boat, otherwise wait your turn.

It's your boat, your rules, your responsibility for their safety and the coordination of activities on the boat. Make sure they know and respect that.

In short, remember that paying close attention to the number and weight of each passenger and the gear that is loaded onto the boat is essential. Boat performance and most importantly boat safety depends on you staying below the max passenger and gear limit weight.

Boating is just as much about responsibility as it is about recreation. Fail to live up to that responsibility and people start getting injuried or killed.

Larson never scrimps on the quality of their materials or in their production processes. This is made evident by their growing number of satisfied customers as well as the awards and accolades they continue to receive. The Larson Boat collection features twenty-four boat models that measure eighteen to thirty-seven feet in length.

All their models made in 2008 to the present use VEC Unitized Construction processes, wherein the stringer, floor, transom and hull are incorporated into a single and unitized part This makes for a hull that is stronger and durable as compared to those that are supported by separate components.

This is why their boats...
