red star marine Navigator ii 500

for $60 its worth it....I tried to make one for my Intex and it after I got about $50 into it, I needed another part, for that price I could have saved $50 and a whole lot of time and just bough the ready made one from ebay, which I ended up doing and it was only $39, check there or other places for a less expensive one.

i don't know anything about boats so i was wondering what Accessories i need to make it faster, even 10mph would be great or 30mph. How much would these Accessories cost me

many thanks

This boat is not designed to be powered other than paddles. There are no options or accessories that you can add to make this boat go the speed you indicated, 10 to 20 MPH. It's a light use inflatable. Good Luck!

What's the best boat for me?

A simple boat for me and my friend for everyday fishing in a lake. Safe. It needs to fit 2-3 adults comfortably. Multiply air chambers (for inflatable boats). Preferred 2 seats. Budget for boat alone (no accessories) is $500.
Double J.

A canoe did go through my head but they tend to lean towards the expensive side. Unless someone could give me some examples to prove me wrong.

I recently purchased a 14' Aluminum V-hull and trailer from craiglist for $500. Keep your eyes peeled there are a lot of people trying to get rid of their boats these days.

Check newspapers, craigslist, and ebay.

Don't be afraid to negotiate the price.

Dinghy Boat?

Tell me about your dinghy boat. Is it inflatable or hard? Which is better? What do you use it for? What accessories do you have for it? Did you hate it and sell it to someone else? Tell me anything.

I'm thinking of buying one...

I don't have one but a good friend of mine does. It's a Seahawk 400 I believe, made for 4 people but it comfortably seats 3. It's inflatable and came with two plastic paddles.

I might be getting my own for this summer. I liked it because it's cheap (around $80), durable, portable and comfortable. For dinghy's, I think that inflatable is the way to go unless you'll be using it primarily for fishing. I say this because when you go out fishing a lot, there's always a chance you get the boat hooked and tear it. Otherwise, the material is very durable and you never have to worry about a hole. There's also several different internal compartments so that if a hole develops in one, you're not going to sink out in the water or anything.

Best of all, it deflates down to the size of a suitcase. This portability is great for trips - and you can keep it in the trunk of your car if you have the room. I think that hard plastic or wood boats would be a pain to store and drag out.

Also, inflatables are obviously very comfortable. You don't need any cushions or anything - just sit or lay back and you could fall asleep floating in the water.

As far as accessories go, he has an electric pump which comes in handy, because using a mechanical air pump can be a pain when you're in a hurry. I also would think about purchasing new paddles, as upgrades over the plastic ones the boat comes with.

You can find these boats at most outdoors/sporting goods stores.
