Full Boat Cover

he is unemployed has about 20 grand in credit card debt, yet he is very serious about purchasing a boat. he keeps talking about how when he was a kid all his good memories were with him and his dad on the family boat and he wants our kids to have the same experience. i told him that in a few years if he pays off his credit card debt and gets a full-time stable job that pays well, we MIGHT be able to afford a boat, but he then gets very angry and insists that the kids will be all grown up by then and wont enjoy the boat. This morning he went back to the sales person and called me from there asking me what color I prefer the boat cover to be for when we cover it up and store it in the winter. I told him again to forget about the boat and to come home. He came home with all these pamphlets and a video on the boat he wants to buy and he is right now chatting on the phone with his father, getting advice on the type of boat to get.

His father has no idea that he is in debt that much.

Hi - I don't understand how he can afford a boat, or take out a loan to pay off installments.

He's in Cloud Cuckoo Land, poor guy.

His childhood was happy, his present situation is not, so he wants to recreate his childhood again - I doubt it's about your children at all.

I honestly don't know how you can stop him - he seems to be blinkered by his desire for the boat.

Maybe you need to put an add in the local paper, or on EBay, or Craig's List.
Maybe place it along side a busy road with a 'For Sale' sign on it.

We have been trying to find a decent replacement canopy cover for our 3-person patio swing, and except for a really drab looking tan-like one at K-Mart, we have had no luck.
Not much help with Google, Amazon or Ebay so far. Big-box home centers are pretty useless as well.
Rough dimensions are about 80in x 36in (based on eyeballing, sorry). So if anyone has been in the same boat and has any ideas, bring them to the party.

This is not regarding a full swingset cover, although getting one of those wouldn't be bad for storage, otherwise I'll be replacing the canopy every couple years......

First of all where do you live? We bought ours in Chesterfield Township Mich. at a garden supply store called Meldrums, and I believe it was $100.00 made out of heavy duty oil cloth, but not shiny. Edit: This is a canopy for the swing not a cover and we have had ours for 6 years all ready .
