He's talking about the lower transfer case oil. Usually 90 weight gear lube. For a 28hp motor, a couple plastic tubes should be plenty. You don't need any pump. You remove the screw near the bottom of the lower unit and there should be another screw up a little higher...remove it also. Make sure the motor is down straight. Snip the top off your 1st tube of lube and insert into the bottom hole and squeeze the lube into the hole. You won't get it all out of the tube, but you'll get most of it in there. When done, hold your finger over the hole and get the other tube (top already snipped) and put it in the bottom hole and squeeze until you see oil come out the top screw hole. Once you see that, replace the lower screw and then the top screw. You're set for the season. You should drain in the fall for winterizing because water does get in there and it could freeze and crack your lower unit housing. As far as oil for the engine goes, I'm almost certain you have to mix 2 cycle oil in your gas tank. Check for proper ratio, but 50:1 is usually the ratio that runs the best.

I just purchased my first boat. It is a 17ft Sea Nymph fishing boat. The boat and motor weight about 1200 to 1300 lbs. With trailer, fuel, and accessories, I should be sitting at around 1800 lbs. I'm looking for a reliable towing vehicle that would be able to handle 2 + hour camping trip drives. Any suggestions?

This boat would not require a large towing vehicle. Probably a small pickup like the Chevy Colorado would do the trick. Similar trucks are av available from Ford, Nissan, Toyota, etc. You could also sue something like a Toyota Pathfinder, Chevy Blazer, etc. Stay away from front wheel drive cars, though. You want a vehicle with a frame. No "unibody" vehicles. Four wheel drive is nice, especially on steep ramps or ramps with slippery seaweed on them.

I seen a commercial on a fishing show (I believe Roland Martin) about a site with trailer accessories. They had a self launching system which attaches to the trailer and it both launches the boat off of the trailer for you and cranks the boat on the trailer for you. I don't remeber what the site was now and was wondering if somebody happened to see this commercial or knew of the site. There was also a small electrical device that attaches to the trailer letting you know when the trailer is far enough in the water before loading.

not sure if this is it, but this is a neat automatic boat loading accessory called Rope A Boat it is able to auto launch and retrieve your boat. neat system...i want one for my bay boat.

I saw them for sell on basspro shops website under marine accessories and I'm just curious, cause I do a lot of fishing and it's always nice to have another trick up my sleeve on the river.
I'm going to let you all pick the best answer on this one. I got the general idea of them. Thanks a lot for all the answers.

We use bigger glow sticks as a bobber when fishing for mackerels. Smaller sticks could be attached to bobbers for night fishing. They are also attached to rod tips or fishing line as a strike indicator at night. I've seen some divers use those as underwater light. Glow sticks provide some emergency lighting.
