Deck Boat Accessories

1991 Hurricane 21’ Deck Boat FD206, good condition meaning it has wear & tear but nothing major. Deck is good, upholstery is a little faded/dirty, no rips but has a few split seams. Bimini top, new mooring cover. No accessories (life vests, anchor, fire ext., etc).

1992 Force 100 hp ELPTO 4cyl, 2stk, elec. start/tilt motor. Number of hours is unknown

1991 Shoreland’r dual axel trailer. Some rust/wear/tear but otherwise good cond.

NADA books it between $4895 - $5320. Dealer asking $5999.00. I know it’s tough without seeing it, but what would you offer?
Also, dealer is offering 1 year warranty, but dealer is 2 hrs from my home. Since I don't see myself driving two hours to get it fixed would you offer to buy it without the warranty in order to get a lower price? Keep in mind everything here is 18 yrs old.

hi ... the boat isnt underpowered its right size for the boat. The problem is that it has a 1992 force motor. They are no longer made and parts are no longer made for the engine. Thats my concern. You will have to look at ebay for used parts. Or find the old Mercury parts equivalent and thats not easy.
If you look around you can get a good deal on a boat If you have $6000 or there abouts to offer.
It is 18 years old you could look on ebay and sneak a deal locally or within 1 hundred miles.
Look at the web pages for the local boat sellers in your area they always have used boats for sale. FOr example in Crysal river Fl I saw a pontoon boat ( if a deak kind of boat is what you want) with Mercury 90hp for $5000, there wa a 18ft bay boat with a Johnson for the same price.
My fear for you would be getting a boat with a motor that is difficult to maintian aand find parts for.

I am a 14 year old girl. Next summer, we are going on a narrow boat holliday, on the beautiful canals in the british countryside. I am getting a jack russell in june, and he will be 2 years old by then, as his owner, my aunt, is emmigrating, and she is giving him to us. He will only have been with us for a month or two, then we will be going on holliday for 10 days. We will most likely be taking him with us. and the outside has 2 decks, one on each end. Dogs are allowed to go with us, as long as they stay off furniture, and he is crate trained for night times so he wont have a problem. And I can take him out for the potty any time, because the boat can only move at walking speed, on the side of the canal... do you think he will be ok? He can walk as much as he likes, and will probably enjoy the new scenes etc. Have you ever taken your dog on holliday? He will have had all his shots etc, microchipped, flea, tick and worm treated etc. We will also keep a close eye on him. He will only be on the deck with a leash on. The only time he wont have a leash is when he is inside a room of the boat. would this be ok??

He should be all right as long as you keep an eye on him to be sure he doesn't get sea-sick or nervous and eliminate on the boat. I would suggest bringing a few potty pads to put down so he has a place to eliminate on board without making a mess. As for the seasickness, consult with the dog's veterinarian to see if it would be safe to give the dog a motion-sickness pill for humans and what dosage the vet would suggest. I would also look into purchasing a life vest for the dog in case he falls off the boat (I know that you said he will only be on deck on a leash but you never know when an accident might happen).

Bring special toys or treats on the boat for the dog to keep him occupied while you are not around or to prevent nervous chewing. I have a Saint Bernard and a Chinese Crested Powderpuff and we have taken them both on our boat and it is quite enjoyable for them. They do get a bit rascally at times, but they are dogs and that is to be expected, right?!?
