I have a Pioneer 197 Center Console boat with a T-Top. I want to find a cover for the T-Top?

I want to buy a T-Top cover that also covers the leaning post / bait well for a Pioneer 197 Center Console. I am having a difficult time locating a dealer, any suggestions?

savmitch1, I found a huge list of boat dealers. I think someone in your hometown can help assist you. http://www.boatsmap.com Just phone one of them or drop by one day when you are not busy. Many boat dealers can even arrange a test drive.

Approximatly how much should a custom boat cover cost for a 20'v hull shallow water boat?

nothing out of the ordinary except for a four foot extended center console bar.

20' Deck length, or 20' Overall length, that includes bow rails and other over hangs.
The center console is extra, for a custom fit one.
Just figure it this way, material, good Sunbrella, $44.00 +- by state.
Beam figures in also, I guess is a trailerable so is 8' max Beam.
20'x8'=160sq ft.
That stuff is sold in yards.
Then you need Thread, good thread, go cheap with the thread and the cover will last 6 months, maybe.
Add te Center Console, add 20sq ft.,
180sq ft.
Get an estimate in your area, that is always the best bet. Also get advise from other boaters on wich Upholsterer does good work and which ones do not.
I would charge about $500-$3000 for that as it is site unseen and I have no idea how many Stanchions it may need , usually 4 does it.

What can I use to cover speaker wire on the floor of my boat ?

I'm installing a Stereo in my boat and i want to run my speaker wires from my center console on the floor to my seat cooler that i sit on..I am using the seat cooler as an Enclosure...Is there something I can use to cover the wires up ?

Thanks

Conduit or channel. It is not a good plan to have wiring on top of a deck, a false deck can be fitted in that area between the console and the seat with gently angled edges to eliminate tripping hazards. Your wires can be run under this in conduit to eliminate abrasion and any water contact - if you make the false floor sealed or allow water under it is up to you - but if you choose the latter it must be easily removed for cleaning.

Cleaning white fiberglass interior of boat that has alot of dirt and light mold on surface - -?

I am sure there are lots of boaters that have this happen all the time with their boats - even when they are covered, as long as they are left outside for an extended period of time, uncovered or not, the white fiberglass develops a layer of dirt/grime and also spots of black mold where moisture collects. Having been a very rainy humid summer here, my boat sat out in a dirt storage yard (uncovered, I know DUH stupid) - for about 2 months - it is an open center console fishing boat about 20' long, plain white fiberglass interiror, center console, seat in front and behind the console. Typical layout. But the ENTIRE surface of the interior is just covered with a nasty dirty layer of black grime, dirt and mold now. Its a friggin' mess. I know I can just start with the hose and scrub brush an inch at a time, but is there ANY way to safely spray some prep cleaner solution on the entire interior and let it soak in and start disolving some of this mold/grime. I know I can maybe use some kind of cleanser, hot water, and bleach in the water - but with the gelcoat still being new on this boat, and the soft vinyl covered white seat cushions, I hesitate to use too strong of a cleanser or too much bleach since its so easy to damage the surfaces permanently. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Its a balancing act between getting this grime off, and not damaging sensitive surfaces like gelcoat and vinyl upholstry. This is surely one of the most common cleaning challenges everyone with a boat has from time to time - any help is greatly appreciated !!!

I have usually stuck with the bleach, esp when mold is involved. Some mildew sprays like x-14 have bleach in them and are very strong. Clorox clean-up with bleach (the green one, not the blue one) works wonders and I have never had an issue with it on old or new gelcoat. Spray it on, leave it for about 30 sec to a min then use a clean wet rag to get all the gunk off, then hose off. Work in sections, it wont take that long. save the brush for the really bad areas, then go back over with the rag

rinse the whole thing out good first, then you might start with a mild cleaner like 409, spray nine, or fantastic orange, that will clean most of it, save the stronger ones like full strength simple green or the bleach for the tough areas and the mold.

I have had no issue with the vinyl and the bleach spray as long as you don't let it sit more that 30 sec to a min, and since yours are white, you should be good.

Snow Inside Of My Boat.?

I have a 17 Foot Carolina Skiff All Open Center Console and I did not have a chance to cover it before it snowed. So now their is about an inch or 3 of snow inside my boat. Is this going to cause any damage sitting on the floor? (the boat is fiberglass)

No. It's just like being out in the ocean, but without the salt. The deck surface has Gel coating and will be fine. You should remove it though and cover the boat.

  • Buy Cheap

  • So one of the first things you

So one of the first things you need to consider after you’ve purchased your boat is protecting it from the onslaughts of nature.

Deciding on the Type of Center Console Boat Cover

The best center console boat cover is one that will ensure total protection from all types of harm that nature can cause to the boat. You will need to consider rain, UV rays, moisture build-up, and dust-dirt-debris floating in the air, in addition to possible thieves. A center console boat cover should ensure that your boat is protected from these events. There are also concerns regarding high variations of temperature, exposure to snow and wind loaded with sand and other particles.

UV ray protection: There is nothing more harmful than the sun beating down mercilessly on your unprotected boat. Continuous exposure to sun will badly affect both the upholstery and the console. A center console boat cover will ensure that the sun’s direct rays do not reach the sensitive parts of the boat and cause expensive or irreparable damage.
