Boat Storage Cover

I have a 98 bayliner capri open bow sppeed boat and the cover over the storage in the hull is warped and rotted is there a place that custom makes these or am i on y own? I would like the exact same cover (carpeted plywood/fiberglass backed) but I do not know where to find it. Please help

A fiberglass repair shop can do it. I did a lot of them when I worked at a boat shop. They are easy to make. The reason they rot is the manufacturer doesn't completely rap them in glass. Anny decent marine repair should be able to do it.

Hello - I was wondering if someone out there knows what potential problems could arise when starting a boat and car storage business in which people can store each of these either covered or in the open. I am looking for any downside or problems that could be faced from the beginning of the company (e.g. just getting everything put together and set up), to client interactions, competition, maintaining and running the facility, and really absolutely any possible problems or difficulties that could occur. Any information is greatly appreciated. My group is doing a report and presentation on this material for a class. Thanks for any info!

You should talk to the planning department before you get too far. You will need to know what kind of permits you can obtain for your zoning. RV can be tough to obtain because of the environmental waste issues associated.

If I winterize it, and get a cover can I just leave it on the trailer or do I have to have indoor storage for it?

No Problem leaving the boat outside. It is done all the time here in Michigan. Getting it shrink wrapped is the best idea, second to that would be a very heavy duty over sized water-proof cover that can reach your trailer. Secure the cover tightly to the trailer so that wind won't be able to disturb it. If you are able, try not to let snow accumulate on top of your cover. If fiber glass, clean and wax hull before putting the boat under covers!
