Boat Cover Accessories

1991 Hurricane 21’ Deck Boat FD206, good condition meaning it has wear & tear but nothing major. Deck is good, upholstery is a little faded/dirty, no rips but has a few split seams. Bimini top, new mooring cover. No accessories (life vests, anchor, fire ext., etc).

1992 Force 100 hp ELPTO 4cyl, 2stk, elec. start/tilt motor. Number of hours is unknown

1991 Shoreland’r dual axel trailer. Some rust/wear/tear but otherwise good cond.

NADA books it between $4895 - $5320. Dealer asking $5999.00. I know it’s tough without seeing it, but what would you offer?
Also, dealer is offering 1 year warranty, but dealer is 2 hrs from my home. Since I don't see myself driving two hours to get it fixed would you offer to buy it without the warranty in order to get a lower price? Keep in mind everything here is 18 yrs old.

hi ... the boat isnt underpowered its right size for the boat. The problem is that it has a 1992 force motor. They are no longer made and parts are no longer made for the engine. Thats my concern. You will have to look at ebay for used parts. Or find the old Mercury parts equivalent and thats not easy.
If you look around you can get a good deal on a boat If you have $6000 or there abouts to offer.
It is 18 years old you could look on ebay and sneak a deal locally or within 1 hundred miles.
Look at the web pages for the local boat sellers in your area they always have used boats for sale. FOr example in Crysal river Fl I saw a pontoon boat ( if a deak kind of boat is what you want) with Mercury 90hp for $5000, there wa a 18ft bay boat with a Johnson for the same price.
My fear for you would be getting a boat with a motor that is difficult to maintian aand find parts for.

I feel stupid asking this question, having been a lifelong boater, I just don't know the proper term for this accessory but I can describe it and hopefully someone can tell me its "official" name so that I can try to find it for sale online or at Boatersworld/etc - There is a flexible (usually black) plastic tubular cover that has ridges all around it, much like a slinky or an elecric dryer's flexible exhaust piping - It covers all the messy wiring, hoses and cables that come out of the front of your outboard motor, and usually just runs over to the side of the transom somewhere, where the wiring and cables drop inside the hull or flooring and go wherever they need to. My boat has a dealer installed Mercury 135hp Optimax outboard, but for some reason during installation, you can see where they took a razor and cut off the plastic cover at the front of the engine, probably so they could modify or work on the wiring for some reason. They should have really replaced the flex cover, and its been bugging me for a long time now - I am hoping these wiring covers have a cut underneath on the bottom so that you can just "pop" the cover over all your wiring (versus a solid piping that you'd have to disconnect every wire/cable from the engine and run each one thru the cover.) - Any assistance on the name of this item and maybe where I could buy the covers online or at a boating store - Thanks !!!

It's called wire loom, and is available in many sizes at an auto or marine parts store. Yes, it is slit so you don't have to disconnect anything. Once you have it in place, fasten it with small wire ties or electrical tape.
