Boat Canopy

I might be mistaken and proved wrong but should think it would be nowhere near worth the time and effort taken to find a canopy that was in any sort of decent condition at all for the boat (any boat!) that was not already essentially deployed on an existing craft.

Look up a local trimmer and have one made. That would possibly be the best thing here.

HOW TO GET SHADE ON YOUR BOAT!

Instead of tarping my boat for the winter which collapses sometimes in the snow/wind, I'm looking into those Canopy/Carports that I see people parking cars, RV's, and boats under. These things are like $500 though for a good one. Anyone have ideas on how to build your own using tarps and pipes? (boat is about 22' long)

I've used PVC pipe and cut the PVC into lengths and us the t connectors for angles, then I used a heavy gage tarp to cover the boat frame. the lengths of the PVC will vary dependent upon how wide the boat is at the areas you are installing the pipe. I then tie the frame to the boat and then pull the tarp down tight down over the frame work that was made. The tarp I used worked for a period of time until a branch fell on the tarp puncturing a whole in the tarp....

I have a 1988 Regal Sebring 195 Cuddy and am looking for the cover that you place over the canopy once it is rolled up. It looks like a long bag with a zipper on the side that you slip above and zip up the canopy to keep out of the way while traveling. Please help ASAP!!! thanks.

hi its called a Boot... or a bimmini boot. measure the lenth tat you need and look on ebay. Or have a friend whos good with a sewwing machine make one for you.. You can get the canvas and put press stud fasteners allong the edge. Thats all mmost of the manufactures do... I have even seen people use small tarps

It is sun and fade resistant and rot & rust proof
It is available in assorted thicknesses and colors: Blue, Green and Silver.
Tarp is made from extra strength weave and has a heavy duty double laminated coating

I bought my boat used and it did not come with the aluminum/canvas canopy.

Check out marine stores such as West Marine and Boat US. I've also seen them for sale at Cabelas.

Can't get the supports loose to clean them....they are stuck in place.

Dilute phosphoric acid applied with a cheap brush and allowed to soak in over a half hour or so will dissolve a lot of the oxide growth. Rinse very well once loose - to neutralise the acid. Keep out of eyes and off skin - use gloves and goggles.
