On my boat lift I have a electric lift but the cords have been pulled out. They're four separate copper wires that look okay to solder. Is it safe and can I solder the wires back to there original connections?
yes, use a silver based solder, make sure that you cover them with insulating resin asap-good luck

Is there a boat lift or boat crane that can lift the boat from the boat trailer to the water, and from the water back to the trailer? Basically a substitute for a boat ramp.
Thank you capt terry. Is there a link or other information I can search regarding the forklift?
Yes it is an oversized forklift with long forks,It can come up from behind the boat and lift it right off,Many of the marinas here on the coast use them
If you have an electric boat lift in a boathouse to lift the boat out of the water and it loses power, is there a manual way of lowering the boat into the water with maybe a hand crank of some sort? If there is no hand crank, what could I use? Thanx in advance
Most models I have seen do not have a manual crank. I do remember seeing a unit that had a large wheel that could be turned by hand, this was for a smaller boat.
Hi, I have a question about a 220v motor on a boat lift. The motor will operate fine in the down operation and will work fine when the boat is in the water starting up with no load. However, if you were to stop the lift, say half way up, and start up again, the motor will not start and by that I mean it will turn very slow and after about 10 seconds will trip the fuse. After that, I have to lower the boat down again and start with no load and it will be fine unless I stop again.
The motor is approx. 15 years old in salt water environment. I have replaced the capacitor and checked all the connections and appear to be ok. I'm just wondering if the motor windings could just be old and need to replace the motor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
David
I would say you have to get new motor I do not think this is a two stage motor if it was it could be that the second stage of it was not kicking in and causing it not to work. But I am sure this is a single stage motor and if in or near salt water it is time to get a new one.
Motors these days unless they are very large are best to be replaced and it would cost more to rewind them unless they are very large as I said. Buy a new one and you should be set for a few more years.
Good Luck :)

Boat Lift Service, A Must This Time Of Year - The Hull Truth ...
Grease all grease inserts. Inspect cables for any wear or flat spots (cables should be replaced every 2 years). Open up the switches & clean the contact points (make sure you unplug the unit 1st!!). Go over the bunks to ensure there isn't any stress cracks. Double check the alignment of your lift to ensure everything is plum & square. Inspect the drive belt, chain, or oil level on the gear unit. Make sure your cable clamps are in tip top shape without any corrosion. If you're using a sling, look for excessive wear spots & replace if they're "too far gone." If you're using a cradle clean & re-apply cold galvanize if you're using steel. An aluminum lift should...
