Bimini Cover

I need the covering that blocks the wind on the front of the sailboat where you steer...it's like a canopy part with plastic....i believe it's called a bimini

what you are looking for is called a DODGER, depending where your boat is moored you may be able to find a local cannvas shop that will build one for your boat.

It is a 19 foot bowrider. Front bow seats, jump seats, and both recliners need to ne re done. Any ideas on cost? Carpet is is good conditon. I would also like to have a bimini cover made for it. Any ideas on that also?

There are heat seal type machines that literally weld the plastic together. Stitching can be used with the appropriate UV resistant thread and reinforcing materials as needed. Best bet is to consult a professional tarp and trim business. The sewing machines suitable for this type work are your good old sail making ones, although the main limiting factor is the throat of the sewing machine restricting how much material you can put through so domestic machines will be o.k. to a point..

I would look at any existing bimini's and see what has worked for them. Making them too light will only let them fail early.

It's a 1986 bayliner. it has a cabin in the front. the motor is a volvo 2.1 (4cyl.) I really dont know much about it i just started restoring it. this guy owed me money and didnt want to pay so i took his boat and waverunner. which are both junk but the boat has potential. and also i cant find a cover for it either. ( hate to waste all the work i did for nothing)

Check-out West Marine they have all kinds and colours. I have a guy who woes me money too, but I think I'll just ram my fist down his throat and pull the cash outta his gullet.

It's very clean and has low hours. It has VHF, Fish Finder, Am Fm sterie w cd player, live well swim ladder, full covers, bimini, coast guard package and a trailor. Should I buy it. Thanks It is in very good shape.

thats not a bad price, that package new if i remember correctly was about 13 -14k, have the motor checked and offer them a little less , enjoy the water!
