Bayliner Pontoon Boat

Im trying to buy a boat with not a lot of money. I know the old saying goes.. you get what you pay for but im just looking for something to scoot around in Tampa bay. What about pontoon boats????
Are the good in salt water?

pontoon boats are ok, you can have them equipped with an I/O usually a 4 cylinder, and they will "cruise" around 28 mph. With a top speed around 34. Party barges or "deck boats" are a little nicer but with not as much space. Bayliner is a good entry level boat. depending on the size you want and the amount of people you want to take. Will you be sleeping on the boat? There are a lot of bayliner cruisers in the tampa area. you can pick up a nice used one in the 15,000 to 32,000 range depending on needs. Deck boats are a little cheaper and of course pontoons are even cheaper still. Will you be trying to fish? you need to talk to a boat dealer, start with bayliner, tell them whet you want to use it for, then seee what they offer. do the same with a deck boat dealer and a pontoon dealer, then make the decision that will give you the most boat for your buck.......oh and forget what max said about skiers, you can pull a skier with a pontoon or a deck boat. We have two boats, one just has a 115 horse outboard and pulls a skier, tube, as well as a kneeboard and a wake board.. the other is the pontoon with a 4 cylinder mercruiser, 27,000 brand new, pulls all the above mentioned just fine, as well as a great place to invite friends, has full tent enclosure for camping and a great fishing platform.
